kk i am pretty sure i have two female leo's i brought them to a pet store and they said they were both females. buht today i caught one of them shaking their tail, so i kept my eyes peeled then i saw leo1 get on top of my other leo2. then i saw leo2 start biting back and trying to run away. and leo1 kept getting on top. they have been together there whole life. since they were 2months old now about 14months old. Please reply
i have a male and femal in the same cage since i got them. would the male try to mate with my female when shes preagnent or deas it know because im nervous. Because i want to make sure ses not at risk of getting hurts or possibley worse.
im in the same situation were pretty sure my females gravid and my male still trys to mate with her but don't worry the female will be able to more then defend herself and the female will give him signs saying that she don't want to mate so don't worry i know what you feel like
Ok I see what you mean. but if it does get violent aren't you supposed to separate them. I'm not saying that yours was but just a question for, well i'm not going to lie but i am a first time breeder and that was what i had heard.Good news is i think my female is pregnant. Oh one last thing do you need to separate the male and the female while the female is pregnant.
If it gets out of hand violent, than yes you need to separate them.
Once the girl is pregnant it is smart to separate them just because the male can get curious, and at times destroy the eggs on accident or sometimes on purpose.
not to be rude or anything but when the female bites back that usually means that she is not ready and if the male persists u are supposed to separate them.
its just that some ways you breed them creates a different morph. for example SHTCTB+Any Albino gives you a SHTCTB baby with het for albino, meaning it has the albino gene, but it doesnt show it. then breed the baby with another albino to get a sunglow(i think thats what its called) which has the same patterns and abscences of a SHTCTB but the black spots are brown.
Sorry about your gecko:( i know how sad it is to loose a dear loved pet. I have a gecko named Jade, i wanted to breed her with my friend Sara's gecko but it died too. Anyway it wouldn't have worked, she found out it was a female, sooo.
i am so sorry that ur gecko died i just got mi leopard gecko and i forgot 2 get mi uv light...he is still fine... if u dont hav an uv light (ultra violet light) ur gecko can get reely sick and die so i reccomend that you get ur gecko an ultraviolet light if u dont already have 1. they can get a disease called bone disease and wont be able to walk and they get very sick and die. if u cant handle that u shouldnt have a gecko. with all respect, i am so sorry that ur gecko has passed away from u =(.
i wouldnt say it harms them, its just that their eyes are sensitive to extreme light, varying with their morph. but they dont need any special lights for uvb rays
I think I found out my little leopard is a male... I noticed him cleaning himself like yours was at the end there, and I think I saw a little penis ??? did I see what I think I saw ???
Haha she got raped

is it ok to have a male and female in one tank?
wayrandomtv 2 years ago
Yes, the tank has to be at least a 20 gallon tank. 2 Females and one male can fit in the 20 gallon. But no less then that.

Good luck on the soon to be momma!
dankish 2 years ago
Ok thank you but i do need to ask do you mean destroy them when they are layed because i have an incubator to put the eggs in.
Leopardgeckolover1 2 years ago
Well, you may not be there the second the eggs come out, so during that time is when the male can do damage.
But read up on temperatures for incubating, then read it again!
dankish 2 years ago
Iv got my temps set already because i have read so many books and web sites.

Leopardgeckolover1 2 years ago
I have been breeding Leos for about 5 years and I have seen this do the same thing all the time.
She is just trying to show her dominance over him,and it is normal.
They don't need to be separated until she resists the whole time he tries,up until penetration.
dankish 2 years ago
ok any morph of leo can breed with any other morph? is that what it is?

Yeah.

hey after my leos mate should i take the male out?
bakerrider69 2 years ago
It depends...
If they have already been living together before mating, than no.
If you put the male in just to breed, just watch them to see if they get along.
If they do than they can live together.
dankish 2 years ago
