I have a deep, deep respect for Parry, absolutely love the guy and what he's about. "Tribe" was something else. The "Arctic" series however is very disappointing. Basically boring, just too familiar, nothing we don't already know.
@bufon63 nothing we don't already know" sounds like u think u know what everybody already knows. i realized afterwards that u meant nothing new as in nothing for the textbooks, so i'll stand corrected. I'll look into 'tribe' tho, so thx for mentioning that show. i watch these types of shows to soak in the landscape of places i'll never travel too. anything else i might learn is a bonus.
@rjdoddswr450f Sir, check out "Bruce Parry, Tribe". It's amazing. Watching capitalist Canadian salmon fishermen, fishing on an industrial scale, exploiting, butchering and making vast profits from mother earth, is nothing I don't already know. Watching Eskimos using guns and traveling on snow buggies is likewise depressing. Parry, a hero of mine in fact, knows this and is just reporting on the plight of indigenous peoples. The problem is, is that we know all this.
@bufon63 thanks for the reminder, I'll check out 'tribe'. ignorance is bliss isn't it! so many solutions already out there , but as you probably know, once politics gets involved then nobody can agree. they (politicians, solution and problem, creaters) all want to force their ideas...then years later after numerous, unnecessary studies and tax dollars wasted, does a half hearted, solution somehow help save, or temporarily hinder the problem. "the love of money is....
