Both Patrick Henry and Soulforce are idiotic... P.H. are trying to put people who strongly believe in gods "word" into the government, and whats even worse is that some come from narrow/close minded private schools or are home taught. Not the people I want running my government at all. Soulforce are just idiotic for putting on a charade when P.H. invited them. If you ask me, both sides show whats wrong with America, and when they clash normal everyday citizens must suffer.

I believe in human rights, too. The gays have the right to be gay, but they don't have the right to force their lifestyle on public school kids or private institutions like PHC. This video contains a number of incorrect statements. The two most important things that people should know are 1.) PHC *is* accredited by a nationally recognized agency, and 2.) Soulforce *was* invited to engage in legitimate debate with student representatives, but they refused.

It is wrong to say that the college was afraid to face Soulforce when the college did in fact openly invite Soulforce to engage in legitimate, no-nonsense, rational debate.

Patrick Henry was accedited. The only reason that PHC are not too much "diversified" is because not many diffrent people meet the standerd that the school requires.

Soulforce didn't want to meet for a debate on "ethics" and "morality" which are the underlying factors here.

The african american that was talking at 3:14 clearly is not a Christian as the bible clearly states that homosexuals are sinful and are setting themselfs against God.

The PHC campus is private property, the demonstrators were advised of PHC rules... they made the decision to knowingly violate these rules and cross the barrier. The police were told by their supervisors to arrest anyone that crossed the line.

The town of Purcellville police department requested that the state and the county provide extra resources - because the 13-14 member department isn't equipped to handle that many demonstrators (with the possibility of more). The state police and Loudon county sheriff's department decided how many officers to provide.

To "jerrydoubleu": PHC was more than willing to speak with the demonstrators OFF campus. The demonstrators would not accept that offer.

Skjermnavnet... You are misrepresenting the truth. PHC did not offer to "speak" to Soulforce off campus. The offered to provide a debate with their Debate Team on the issues of the Federal Marriage Amendment off campus. We were not there to talk or debate the Federal Marriage Amendment. That offer was made, knowing that we wouldn't accept (because that was not what we were there to talk about) so that PHC could tell the media and others "we offered them a chance to talk" when they really didn't.

And... it doesn't matter who requested the extra police. Over 100 law enforcement personnel for what was known to be a non-violent, peaceful gathering was entirely too much and a waste of tax payer monies. In all of Soulforce history, we have never had a violent gathering or violent altercation... EVER. The Police presence was too much.

PHC and local law enforcement were told to prepare for an extremely large crowd. It's alleged that soulforce had encouraged a lot of other anti-PHC groups to attend the demonstration. (Note that I say "alleged") The police were there to protect both soulforce and PHC. There's also a known MS-13 gang presence in Loudon county, another factor to protect both sides against.
