His policies would be considered conservative today. He lowered taxes, was a member of the NRA, and he built up the military. 

But he did cheat on his wife, so I guess he did have some liberal ideas.

Hate to disappoint you, but Marvin was an outspoken liberal Democrat who opposed the Vietnam War and supported gay rights as far back as 1969. Check out his interview in Playboy that year. He was no conservative.

Too bad he was dead by then he died in 87. Beatty is a good actor though and a cool guy. Marvin I would anyday put over Beatty as a better actor.

That movie was not my favorite, and I don't think Lee would have helped it out, he was just too old to be playing the roles he was playing in the 80's. Typecast comes to mind.

Yeah really, he looks a lot more in depth then the material he did in the 80's that I can remember. Maybe he was preparing for this interview knowing the end was getting close. Reminds me of his 50's and 60's films. Pretty cool interview, he mumbled a little and I'm getting jaded seeing all these legends doing these in depth interviews but he was great.
