he retired in the late 90s i believe. He made a comeback in the 90s to try and win the Olympia but failed. He is a sad soul but a hard worker. He stuck around for 3 decades to win an olympia but came out empty handed.

yes lou was good , but he needed more size for him to compete when he did 275 was'nt enough standing 6-5 , 310 would have give him the size he needed , but then again his father was training him and he knew nothing about body buliding he gave it his best shot , but look he became the hulk and he's an icon .

He's a legend. Literally thousands of people from China to Africa to Sweden to India to Brasil, they all use Steroids, and perhaps train very hard, but 99% still look like mocking figures next to a young Louie at any given day. And they would only dream of attaining a physique even remotely close to the shape and size that Lou had during the 80's & 90's. No matter how much testosterone & hormones they shoot.

Yeah, its a shame he never won mr olympia, in my opinion he had arnold beat for jokes when it came to size, but he lacked conditioning, arnold was really well conditioned so it created a illusion of making him look bigger than he actually is, apparantly lou decided to compete in 75 at the last minute, if he actually prepared earlier for 75 and/or 76 mr olympia he would have won.
