@RonAlmeida: I could not agree more, that is why I am rarely seen. The fact is, that you tube and other fora become sucked up with pure stupidity, anger and ignorance of course exceptions are always welcome. I just don't think that you tube is in any way a platform to discuss, it is unfiltered raw material and under this agenda has become a consuming enforcing machine - just to say, let them talk but more so, let them buy:)
Actually, this original music is with Herbie Hancock and musicians. You can Google it. Jack DeJohnette on drums, Jimmy Smith on organ. Google "Original Soundtrack Blow Up"
sorry, this is ridiculous, that's not the original sound, what should be unreleased footage ??? this scene is to be seen 1:1 in the original movie, with the original yardbirds music of course ;-/
The Yardbirds with original members chris dreja and jim mccarty are touring the US in May 2010. I have tickets to see them at Tangiers Akron Ohio on May 23.
at :36 people claim that you can see Michael Palin of Monty Python fame standing in the crowd. It certainly looks like him, and he'd be the right age for this scene, but it's as yet unfounded.
gwugluud I think the whole point is that this WAS the original soundtrack...don't you get it? They were going to use this first, then decided against it and went with "Stroll On" They don't show Relf singing because it would not have matched with the jazzier music playing.
Personally I'm glad they used "Stroll On" instead, that's one of my favorite songs
The guitarists in this video did not do too badly. Jimmy Page was elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice. Jeff Beck was elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice as well, in 2009 as a solo artist. They both performed "Beck's Bolero" and "The Immigrant Song" on the show. They did not choke to death on their own vomit. But we all will if we listen to that "jazz" muzak garbage that kingofpoland overdubbed over "Stroll On". Listen to Beck's futuristic feedback-driven solo.
These scenes are in the released version of Blow Up (1966). The song performed is called "Stroll On", which is based on the "Train Kept A Rollin''" lick. You an hear Jeff Beck's feedback drenched introduction in this clip before the utterly awful muzak is switched on. This clip features both Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page on dual lead guitars. This is one of Beck's most remarkable solos if you watch the actual film and not this phony hoax.
Musically they play Train Kept A Rollin / Honey Hush by Johnny Burnette r&r Trio, but the words are changed by Relf to Stroll On - British slang for 'you're joking' ...
well, unbeknownst to the viewers, he sees into an alternate future reality where he murders an unknowing stranger with the very guitar neck that he holds in his sweaty and aching hands.....it is also unknown to everyone involved that the guitar neck itself is possessed by an unsightly and sexy demonic power not fit for mortals.....later on he realizes all of this during his enlightenment that he was at least lucky enough to see the yardbirds live before they all turn into zombie overlords....
And he was at least lucky enought to see the guitarists in The Yardbirds before they were elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for a second time. And he saw one before he performed "Whole Lotta Love" at the closing ceremony of the 2008 Olympics. At least they did not choke to death on their own vomit or pour kerosene on their guitar and burn up a Fender Strat. Notice how Jeff Beck smashes up a cheap guitar in the scene. Beck played a Les Paul and a Fender Telecaster.
That's the whole point of the scene. He only wanted it because they wanted it, once they weren't around anymore to show him they wanted it, he didn't care about it.
When is Rick Astley gonna pop up. Pointless !

Vocalist visible at 0:33 and 2:09, apparently singing "The Train Kept A-rollin" although of course we don't get to hear it in this pointless video

This footage is identical to the film apart from the fact you have dubbed over a different soundtrack.

Great audio editing, interesting. Just different from the original Yardbirds music.

They don't have a sax and organ player in the Yardbirds, here so this music doesn't make sense at all. It doesn't fit.

what's the point of running away with the guitar neck if you're just going to throw it away?
