This is SO Yue! She's kind of a whild child sneaking off to see Sokka (for the beginning beats) and then having to relize she has to return the life of the Moon Spirit to its rightful place and sacraficing her own life, the ending fits her sacrafice so perfectly.

I liked Yue, but I feel like Suki is better for him...Because she can carry her own weight and is tough and canf ight with him....if Yue was there Sokka would just have to pretect her all the time and she would get in the way...but I'm nto dissing her or anything.

it's a bit difficult to really make an assessment and for the other comments below this one, "JUDGE" Yue because we only see her in a couple episodes. I think she acts the right way considering the way she was brought up. She did have a little "wild child" in her (I.E. sneaking off to meet up with sokka) but she was brought up to sacrifice herself for her nation. I think that takes incredible inner strength. And in her afterlife, she still proves to be a strong woman both in heart and power :3

I agree, he would have to protect her and Suki is better for him but, I think he should've ended up with Toph, she seemed to like him. I still like The couple of Suki and Sokka though.

Ya, it was like, theY made it seem like there was going to be something between sokka and toph when they showed toph blush at the end of that episode, but it never really went anywhere. Suki is best for him.

She irritates me. Her drama and weakness just piss me off. Sure she sacrificed herself to become the Moon Spirit and save the Water Tribe, ONLY thing she actually did right. She never fought for what she believed in, never stepped over the line, and cried WAY too much. I hate characters like that.

@iLoveSesshomaru100 I think you're missing my point. I'm allowed to dislike a character, am I not? Katara never learned to fight growing up. That never stopped her from fighting with words (and later Bending) for what she believed in, despite everyone telling her she couldn't. From the little we saw of Yue, she was very weak until the point where she sacrificed herself. She always cried and ran away from stressful situations instead of voicing her opinion. In my eyes that's weakness.

@iLoveSesshomaru100 You are still missing my point. I am not saying she should have physically fought anyone. She never stood up for herself or others even if she wanted to. She always cried and ran away from stressful situations instead of facing them with an inner strength she obviously had if she sacrificed herself for the greater good. She was a weak character (psychologically) and I didn't approve of her. I never once said she should have whipped out some cool fighting skills.

@NocturnalPyro Yue was all about sacrifice for the greater good. It's beyond unrealistic for some girl to say no to a political marriage. People understood that throughout history. Nor did she have a problem with it till Sokka came. You're just not understanding the context. I mean I think you know the context but you can't accept or something. This is probably one of the most realistic things in Avatar(despite it not being important at all).

Accepting a political marriage does require strength though denying it takes more. It was the escapist nature that bothered me. If something is hard to do, bear through it. Don't run away crying like a five year old. She had the strength to accept the marriage and to sacrifice herself but she was still an escapist. I find that obnoxious.

She also didn't spend all her screen time crying about either. Also, accepting a political marriage isn't about strength. It was just a cold hard fact that it was something that happend. Yue, independantly of accepting it, knew it was for a greater good(supposedly)

@NocturnalPyro It lacked merit, was based on nothing, and didn't seem to take any sort of resonable human behavior into account. Just look at the 2007 film Fighter. Despite the girl pushing through with what she wanted, it was completely emotional for her. Yue also pushed through with the decision she thought was best, but it was emotional for her. You don't have to like her. But you don't need to try to justify not liking a character. Because it just seems like you're grasping.
