  • Brilliant...Fabulous.

    1. How long for each training session?

    2. How many times on the one trick per day?

    3. When do you start taking away treats?

    4. Do you teach one drill per session, per day until they get it then move on to another trick?

  • Thank you it helped so much

  • can you come teach a class in Toronto area :) Awesome and thank you

  • I have I don't know what kind of dog she is,probably is a corgie mix,do you think she can do all of these?Because yesterday I tried to teach her how to walk between my legs and when she had to go in between she just stand on the ground.I don't know why she does that...Maybe she can't understand ..I don't know...

  • Really loved the video - thank you so much really helps me to see how

    to build on the skill.

  • This is defiantly the most beautiful corgi I have ever seen!

    Great training as well!

  • do you have a cue for walking in between your legs foward and back? I taught Dermott to stand inbetween my legs (LEGS) and he now knows to walk foward and back with me unless I release him. Should I have a cue for this, like, WITH ME for walking foward and WALK BACK for backwards? I am struggling to teach him to walk back and never thought of teaching him this way. Which way would you reccomend? I have a feeling fading out the dog being inbetween you would be very hard if you taught it that way?

  • @Ella4Blu Nope, no cue. She just watches what I do and follows my body language. There's no one correct method, just try out different things and find what works for you!

  • dang very handy

    I had to subscribe

    Cheers for posting your methodology

  • my dog sits down when i walck into him and he doesn't move

  • i had that problem ... try doing it in a narrow space.

I slide the coffee table next to the couch & then she had no where to go but back && I started clicking at the slightest bump backward...3 - 5min sessions in between those and she would do it anywhere ... now I want her to back up 10-20 ft && all I can get is a few shuffles back...still, we've gone ffrom one step to 5-6 .. time and patients I guess

  • thanks a lot...i tried this and it worked....

  • Another great video. Thanks.

  • My dog sits down when I walk into her! What should I do?

  • Gently shuffle your feet toward her body, making sure not to actually step on her. As soon as she gets up (she doesn't even have to move back, as long as she just gets her rear end off the ground) click and treat.

  • A great video! This will help me a lot with my shetland sheepdog puppy (3 months). I was sent here to watch this video by zsianz1, who has also great tutorials here in youtube. Can't waite to see more of you both! Thank you thank you thank you!

PS: Sorry about my English, I live in Finland :)

  • thanks do much for the reply. I have a standard poodle and i am working on freestyle dance moves. you are the only one that i have seen teach how to back up in circles and thru legs etc . Bravo!! one more thing. you hand signal for back in a circle is a circle with you hand do you have a reverse cue(forward)for heel? kelopup stay video has no sound. bummer.

  • I'm certainly not the only one- I learned how to teach back-up circles from zsianz1 (see her channel, she has a great tutorial on teaching this).

I don't use hand signals for heel- I just ask her to get in heel position and I start walking. She has learned to stay in heel position when I walk forward/backwards :)

  • what is your cue for going forward?

  • In heel position, sometimes I'll say "Let's go!" or "Heel". However, I prefer to not say anything. Dogs tend to follow visual cues (i.e. your body language) better than they follow verbal cues.

  • Wonderful! love to see a stay taught

    thanks

ps. what kind of camera are you using?

  • awesome, love your tutorials, keep em coming :-)
