  • @klimber1000 pacific nw is beautiful but too damn rainy in some parts. i went to Seattle and thought about moving there, but the rain is annoying. Colorado is a better choice for me .

  • you skipped glenwood basalt and carbondale! REPRESENT B-TOWN FOR LIFE

  • Beautiful place.Greetings

  • I enjoyed this ! Thanks. Felt like I was there too.

  • It look like my comment were gone. I post them on here long time ago but now it is gone. Dang! Well, Aspen is always in my heart because I have been to Aspen before, which it is beautiful. It has been 10 years since I left Aspen (which I went to a deaf camp in Snowmass) every summer. I will never forget that.

  • Hey there.... Is it even possible of average income families to move to Aspen ? OR is there a cheaper alternative like towns near Aspen that are more affordable ?

  • I don't personally believe that an "average" family can afford Aspen.

It's mostly the very well to do, tourists, kiddos who live 10 to a house and work in Aspen and immigrants who do the same!

  • @funkyflights Average income families cannot usually live in Aspen unless through employee housing. To live outside of the town is a lot cheaper but It still isn't cheap.

  • Then you, Friend are breaking the law.

At best, when the roads are dry it takes me 4.5 hours through these mountains.

On the ice it takes much longer.

You shouldn't be exceeding the speed limits or driving too fast for conditions.

  • @tyeporter It takes maybe 3.5 hours if you are going the exact speed limit the entire time. 4.5 on dry roads is way too long.

  • The only way to do the speed limits is to be a big engined truck/car, 8cyl - etc.

And to have nobody in the car/truck with you and nothing in the back of the truck.

I drive up there with a bed full of gear for my gigs and can rarely hit the speed limits.

I'm lucky if I'm at 35 up some of those slopes.

  • it is a fantastic drive over the mountains and pass.Glenwood canyon is my fav.I'm inspired to do a footage of my own when i next drive to Denver from Aspen..thanx for the clip.

  • What kind of car do you drive?

  • I drive what Adam Sandler would call a "piece of poop car".

    It's a Dodge - but I'm a Chevy guy.

I tried a Dodge for the last 18 months and now I know why they went outta business!

  • aspens my fav flace ever

  • I can only say WOW. The landscape is a wonder of nature! Aspen is my dream, I'd come and live there in a heartbeat!

  • How far is aspen from denver ?

  • Depends on the weather.

This trip (major snow/ice) took 5 hours.

In good weather this year, I've been able to reach Carbondale in 4 hours and Snowmas in 4.5.

  • thanks tye for your help.

  • It is insaine how many times i have driven this route....i live in Aspen, and I drive to denver nearly every other weekend in the winter for hockey games....

and to NorthAmericanWinter....We the people of Aspen are very laid back and friendly.!

    cool vid btw

  • Thanks!

  • I live in aspen!!

  • aww looks soo nicee!!

    can't wait!

probably going to move to Aspen in 2 years!

  • how cold was the temperature outside during the trip?

  • This particular trip?

I believe it was in the 30°F/0°C's...

It was New Year's Day - and the roads were closed the night before - snowed over pretty thick.

  • habbadou - the real world doesn't condone racism. Racists have no place in reality and there is absolutely zero tolerance of this behaviour.

While I appreciate your efforts to contribute to this thread, whether it's your humour or world view - the racism you've displayed have caused me to edit/disapprove your posts.

Thank you but no thank you, Sir.

  • nice video (good idea)--and you seem to drive fairly safe too. keep up the good work!

  • Hey great video and nice song!!.... you should check my videos...I'll be there..someday...

  • Thanks!

You've got some cool vids/music too.

I'm from Los Angeles, it's nice to see those shots of Cali.

  • It skips a lot of miles, esp between Vail and Glenwood, but it still ROCKS.

  • LOL

    Thanks.

I was running outta memory by that last leg of the trip and I wanted to get as much of Glenwood Canyon as I could.

    BUT...

I'm glad you recognized it enough to miss the miles in between.

    Right on!

  • Been there, done that, without a camcorder. :-)

  • Are the People nice in Aspen Co?

  • Those I met were very nice.

  • Not if you're observed picking a flower off Aspen Mountain. Then they'll get pretty bitchy.

  • A Blonde walks into the Doctor's office and she pokes her eye and says, "Doc - it hurts when I do this..."

    :D

  • Just wondering: Would you think it acceptable to tell that joke with the word "blonde" changed to "negro"?

  • If I have to explain this joke to you - you must be a blonde.

  • I love this video!!!It's the best! The next month is my time...

  • Thanks!

I look forward to your video.

It's already snowing pretty well up there so by next week (we have two more fronts lining up to pound us) you should have a great white backdrop.

    Enjoy!

  • never winter

  • My friend has a cabin in Glenwood we visit. Thanks for posting and brining back good memories! Grace and Peace.

  • Glenwood is beautiful.

  • Thanks! (God made it)

  • AMEN!!!

  • Thank you for being willing to let this world know that God is real and The Lord Jesus Christ did come in the flesh to...well, make it right for all that want it.

  • Actually it's 'Marble', Co not Glenwood; but it seemed like a fair reference point.

  • Hello Tye

I see you went on a trip to Aspen. I has been to Aspen before too. I miss Aspen so much there.

  • I don't think there's much to see anymore this time of the year.

    It's buried under snow!

    :D

It was great when I was there, only just begun to snow.

  • Still haven't been there yet :o( I still haven't even gone skiing yet :o(

  • These Mountains are right here in our backyard, you should take a drive every weekend or so and visit.

  • Pikes Peak is my playground :o)

  • ROCKIN!!! See ya up there sooner or later!

  • lol the music sounds like its saying whos gay?

  • LOL

    So, you're hearing voices, eh?

And what did you say they're saying to you?

    ha ha ha ha ha

    :P

  • Cool :)

  • Thank you.

  • ok first of all, im afraid of freeways, so i wasnt too happy about most of this video, BUT it sure was a beautiful drive and the town of Aspen looks sooo pretty waaaaaaaa i wish i wasnt afraid to travel =/

  • That makes me sad.

That's the second to last thing I ever wanted to hear outta you!

    O_o

  • wowee looks amazing!

    =]

  • Other than being a "White Knuckle Ride" it was very beautiful and fun.

I had the Music going and I was singing (screaming actually) the whole way!

  • Looks like the drive was a spectacular view. Thanks for the post and Happy New Year!

  • Thank you.

Happy New Year to you as well.
