I was on birth control pills for 13 years and quit taking them Nov. 2010. And yes, my skin has broken out a good bit over the last year, which is why I find myself watching videos like this one. While my skin was clearer, the other risks associated with bc pills made them too worrisome of a gamble for me to stay on past age 30. Ortho Tricyclen and Microgestin both resulted in fewer breakouts than I have this year (though Depo Provera shots for 1 year produced awful breakouts and weight gain).
Try googling it there's lots of info out there. It may not cure everyone's acne but it will certainly reduce it and work with The Regimen so you have less breakouts if any.

The age old proof that diet does not affect acne was ONE study feeding chocolate bars to test patients Not feeding them a healthy diet and adding junk food to see if it caused acne Bad test don't believe the lie
A major reason women especially have so much acne, that you did not address was consumption of a lot of processed dairy products. Women are told over and over that dairy helps them lose weight and prevents osteoporosis, but these studies are done by the dairy industry and are so minuscule in results, the advertising blows it out of proportion. Try an elimination diet, removing ALL dairy products especially cheeses for a few weeks and you will have less mucus infections inflammation and less acne
I read that severe acne can be made worse by brushing your teeth using fluoride toothpaste. I can't imagine how bad it is to put directly on the skin in that case. I'd suggest going to a holistic store or something to find a non-fluoride toothpaste to see if that helps.
Question: I ordered the "regimen" a few weeks ago & like to believe I am seeing results. But I'm also using Aloe Vera, I put all over my face in the middle of the day & about 7-10 hours later from when I used Acne.org products in the morning.
I use to apply Toothpaste (Crest w Scoop) as a in the middle of the day wash B4 I started using Acne.org products & feel I saw results.
My face is actually clearing up BUT I'm seeing zits...
Is it the ALOE VERA & should I go back to using Toothpaste?
bc helps alot with acne, well at least it did for me, but i've heard that for others it makes their skin worse. drinking a lot of water helps, which is easy if you carry a water bottle around with you. eating healthily helps too. also, there are negative effects of bc. i started to get migraines with aura and had to stop taking it, but i sort of wanted to stop anyways when i heard that it can cause breast cancer. bc also can cause depression because it messes with serotonin.
The American Institute Of Advanced Medicine can help! They have over 25 years experience and over 90% success rate for a varity for skin disorders including cystic acne check out theaiam.com their protocols really work!!
Their medication is FDA approved with no side effects! ** Not a scam!
I am in my early 30's and suffer from cystic acne. I had been on B/C for at least 10 years when I decided to stop them. At first, I started to break out really bad but about a year and a half later I am doing better. I do really think my acne is hormonal. I had wonderful skin with NO acne as a teen and have horrible cystic acne as an adult which leads me to believe that maybe it was the birth control that screwed up my skin as it was when I started to take it is when my cystic acne came.
I went on Diane-35 and I found it did clear up my skin. Although, I gained a ton of weight (I'm not sure if it was from the BC necessarily or from the fact that it increased my appetite and I just didn't notice). After I went off it my acne got so much worse... I broke out in places I've never broken out before. I'm going to see my doctor this Thursday... now I'm not sure what to do. But I think it is a combination of both internal and external problems.
Thanks for researching women and acne Dan! I am one of those over 25 year olds that still gets acne. I take birth control which eliminates any and all cystic acne for me. I would honestly be scared to go off of it for fear that it would come back. I take excellent care of my skin topically but still get minor blemishes. I recently broke out and realized I had switched my multivitamin recently and it had iodine in it. My old one didn't have iodine. It seems suspicious so i'm going to switch back.
Hormonal treatments suck! Believe me, its bad for your health and you can get breast cancer from that very easy. I'm a woman and uses hormonal treatments as well as the usual treatments against acne and they're poison! I'm using Daniel Kern products and I do have my occasional break outs especially in the summer strangely enough but other than that the products really work. Better than all the junk they sell around here in the Netherlands.
I took birthcontroland I went from 115 to 138lbs in 4mo I'm 5'3. I became really irritable and my grades slipped. I broke out worse than before.I got off the pill and got pnemonia went from127lbs to 113lbs but my skin cleared up.they put me on antideppresants and it made me break out badly!I have pock marks because of the antideppresant .Part of the reason I broke out was Iwaswashing my face too much or not enough.
I use proactive only at night and don't use the toner. I pat dry my skin leaving it moist apply moisturizer and benzyl peroxide on pimples. In the morning I gently rinse and use moisturizer with spf15. Don't use the benzyl peroxide during the day drink 8 oz of water every day Take the vitmin zinc birth control pills ever just fuck up your hormones.Moisturize the skin, cleanse at night, take vitamin zinc, bare essentials!
I was an a birth pill called Diane-35, it did wonders for my face. My skin stayed clear! It was great. The problem was that the pill caused me to have severe headaches and even blurry vision so I had to stop. My acne has gone crazy lately. I am 23 years old and have tried almost everything, from Accutane to Proactiv and nothing really works =( I had really good results with the birth pill, I will see if I go back to it but maybe with Yazmin, hopefully that one doesn't give the bad side effects.
I 100% agree with your regimen except for the washing part. For someone young, Im sure your method is the way to go, but once you get older, your skin cells do not rejuvenate as quickly, which can lead to clogged pores. My regimen includes DDF Pumice Acne Scrub once a day in the morning, to clear my face of dead skin cells. A light washing at night with mild clenser. And benzol peroxide twice a day. After 5 years of suffering, this has completely cleared me up.
