@loot3rdude true and i have used my digitech rp 50 adapter for 300 ma it it is a very easy way to get power but using batterys can couse damage to this pedal and it is even great as the boss gt 10 when you look at how much you pay for this pedal

@houghbear Yes you can, just turn the distortion off on the pedal, and up on your amp. You can then play with whatever other effects you want. Remember, the ME-25 (and any effects pedal or multi-FX) is independent to your amp settings - experiment changing both about to find what sound you need.

I bought this today, it will be returned to the shop tomorrow.. the unit looks,works fine, and is easy to use but the problem for me is that my sound is muffled/toneless/ very altered/ dull and lifeless, this is in the bypass with no effects on. Called roland about this and was told that I was not the fist one to call about the problem.. If you have a Crap amp then this thing will be fine. Also roland told me that the voicing of an effect is not the same over there whole range.

@ThePowerFromTheEvil well i dont listen much to those 2 artists but i know zakk wylde and yes u can get very good distortion, its OD/DS lets u choose from 10 different distortions including OD-1,Dist,Metal,Fuzz etc with fully ajustable paramaters.

i dont think u would be disapointed but since this is my first pedal board im still learning how to use it to its full potential

No. It has many distortions, but you need to save it on a Patch, you can't turn on and off the effects. Then, you can have a clean and a distortion patch and go up and down.

Is ME-25 good for playing live? I'm asking this because I've heard it's better for recording. Any opinions? I think about getting ME-20, ME-25, ME-50 (used for sure) or Vox tonelab st. Not sure what to do.

if you wnt to play live, i think it is easier to use the ME-20. However, it is pretty similar to the ME-25 and it has more options.

so yeah, the ME-20 is better for live because of it's simplicity but the ME-25 is still great.

this is sooooo much better than the digitech as this sounds very realistic and the digitech sounds very digital and it is really hard to tweak it to get a great sound or a sound in your head. definitely get the me 25

i have the ME 70 and i have to say....they mess up, big time with this thing. It hasn't any relation with the ME series...It's more like the Zoom 505... Just a patches saver. Good product with a wrong name(sorry for my english)

@miko1975guitar of course, but i was talking about the interface. In the ME series the magic resided on the option of use the manual mode, you know, individual effects blah blah, but here the take that away, so the create a great multi-effects pedal, but with the same limitation of the Zoom 505.

If i was you i would get a good quality TUBE amp such as an orange tiny terror combo not a solid state because solid's try to replicate the awesome sound of a tube but an actual tube amp sounds amazing thats just my opinion but some solid states are okay if your just using them in your room and stuff but yeah i would get a tube =]

@go433 If you talk about technical aspects and function wise, then i gotta be GT-10. However ME-25 is really pretty good compare to many other pedals with the same price range.

So i'll say, if you have the money then get GT-10, if not get ME-25 and i believe you'll still love it!

@Sidefreez Yes you can! It has 60 channels with preset tunes for you. However you can overwrite and save your OWN desire tune over the 60 channels!

To be frank i didnt really have so much fun playing guitar until i got this baby. I can easily do many song covers without the constraints i used to have. So go get it, its pretty cheap yet good!

Exactly right. I know of many great artists who don't get a dime from Line 6, like Dug Pinnick from King's X (who last I checked was still using a Line 6 PODxt Pro for his killer bass tone).

And I know this is BOSS ... I was saying I like BOSS, I just like Line 6 a little better for its amp tone, but I love the BOSS non-amp tone on its mutli-effects gear.
