  • That pub in heaven has Matt McGinn there as well. There may be snow all around yet the grassroots of justice are forever growing.

  • For all the people that are not fluid in Scotisch-English but want to know what Luke Kelly is singing about (and this took me a while to find) google: Dundee weaver translation (and click the site of Dick Gaughan).

Hope you will enjoy that little tibit of information.

  • Its shite bein english sometimes. Celtic music is very uplifting and stirring, and Luke Kelly was a fuckin genious. Bet you guys can enjoy his songs on so many more levels.

  • @alexpmoralesfan Don't matter what, if you get the joy of it, then you get it! Keep listening..

  • @bettyswollex

    well said betty

  • i love his version of scottish songs

  • Great singer and a great band.

I would pay anything to see these guys in a concert, too bad that'll never happen.

  • You won't see Luke, anyway.

  • Theres a little pub tucked away in some corner of heaven where Luke Kelly, Ronnie Drew and Ciaran Bourke are sitting in a snug belting one out

  • the man had a better scottish accent than most scots i know, incerdiable

  • Funny you should say that. He actually said that he thinks it's terrible.

  • When/where did he say that?

  • He says it in his intro to the live version of I'm a Rover

"Don't mind my Scottish accent...it's turrrible".

  • Thanks Schiple! Bwahahahaha. Turrrrrible! :-D

  • I am actually reading this novel with some Scottish dialect thrown in. If not for listening to all these vids Id be completely lost lol, but I can actually make most of it out thanks to these :-)

  • Luke Kelly - 17 November 1940 - 30 January 1984 was one of if not the greatest Irish folk singer of all time. RIP Luke.

  • amazing singer he gets better every time i listen to him

    greatings from sweden

  • This guy has an incredible vocal energy.

    A vocal athlete.

The song is intense, a story of teen pregnancy in 19th century mill town scotland. She's going to lose her job or get rid of the baby. The fact is this is a woman's song, but that's cool.

Luke does a fabulous job. And the dubliners are awsome musicians, rock solid acoustic folk, authentic...nice!

  • woooooooohooooooooooooo!!!!!

  • greeeeeeeeeeeatttt upbeat lukey song, love it
