I still posess the ticket from Rainbow 1976 here in Germany (supporting band a at that time unknown band called AC/DC) It cost me 8 Euros in todays money. I saw Rainbow very often. I discover now Stratovarius. The play with all the power and strength which ist neede to play Rainbow correctly. 5 Stars. Very good

Don't get me wrong, I listen Stratovarius a lot (but only first three albums where Tolkki is singing) but Kotipelto sounds so funny when singing this song. (I really love Rainbow's version) I just laughed whole time during listening this. :-D

I think some are comparing this too much with the studio version.

Stratovarius plays a half key lower (Ab)than Rainbow in studio. For a singer it's a BIG difference to try to make it sound reasonably decent in original key (A).

Good attempt, but listen to the studio version, and try yourselves to sing it. It gives you a good understanding how difficult this song is really to sing the whole song so that it sounds good.

JLT had a unique voice, so hats off to that!

Forgot to say that ofcourse in live circumstances the singer has a whole bunch of other extreme performances to make (other difficult songs to sing too), so please show some respect and understanding for the artists.
