I sort of doubt that there is any evidence for the tunnels in the pyramid that wind around to the top. Granted the limestone finish is long gone, but engineering those tunnels out of stone would have been a mother. I believe that the current idea was that rubble was piled around to build a winding ramp up the sides to build the core, and then the limestone was laid, cut and polished from the top down as the ramp was removed.

I am not sure of whose "current idea" that might be, but if you are looking for a plan that doesn't work on any level, that would be it.

Engineering the tunnels would not be a big problem, its just a different way of stacking the stone blocks. The tunnels were not in any way cut into the pyramid, they were extended corbelled chambers that ran along the inside of the layer that supported the limestone facing stones. They would have been probably the easiest part of the pyramid to design.

Thats not true actually, they found alot of graves with the workers in them and they werent slaves. They all had the best medical care. The theory is that everyone did a bit, like a compulsery military service and were happy to do it and were paid quite well and were really looked after.

Ummm, well, they may have not been exactly happy to do it, but it probably was done like the US used to do compulsory draft; most able bodied farmers worked for some term, some stayed on for more, others went back to their farms. Likely the life in the work camps was marginally better than it was on the farm, particularly in the dry season. It was steady employment in a life that was largely feast/famine.
