very nice , I do agree with nahoft in some portion of his comment(slow playing) , the tombak player should warm up the skin so he could get a better sound , but over all good job guys
please this comment after reading it. I like this clip, you both are good but make more than one or two mistakes. maybe you should relax, try to play slower and not show off. The greatest challenge is not playing fast but playing slow. Also cut back on the dam dam dam on the base string between each melody. not very artistic. turn the space into a dynamic sub-melody or leave it as blank with the some vibrato left from the last not of the main melody. this is quite dancable.
He plays this chaharmezrab on his CD "From Stone to Diamond", but it originates in the radif of mirza abdu'llah. I play it pretty much like him but I added a gushe called naghme-ye maghlub between the two parts, and finished it differently. I'll be posting a vid of his performance in Morocco of his recent album work soon.
