  • What device did you use?

I would like to do the same.

what tools our accessories didi you use?

  • where in jersey?

  • ????????????????

  • camera lens angle is too narrow

  • are you sure this is shot in HD30 mode? i have a zi6 and the video should have the option under it on youtube to watch in HD but it doesn't and the video is not in widescreen.

  • Dude! That's crazy! Really cool video though. But, I would never put anything expensive on top of a car and record lol.

  • This was nothing, Taped down and padded. I have mounted 40K dollar cameras to the car, but those have appropriate rigs for them. This was nuttin.

  • Wow, 40000 dollar cameras? OMG. I didnt even know such things exist. I only have a 420 dollar camera haha.

  • Thank you for this video, its great, I am going to buy myself one of these Kodak's now.

I live in London England, and it is really nice for me to see what its like driving in your Great Country !

    Well done !

    Trigga

  • looks great

  • i've always wanted to do this with my camera....

  • Was that 30 fps? (or 60 fps)

  • How long the batterie life on this camera??

  • What car mount did you use for your Zi6 did you use a screw on type mount on the bottom ?

  • It was sitting on a smushed roll of paper towels in my roof rack. i braced it up against one of the bars and used some gaffers tape to hold it in place.

  • The zi6 seems to drop frames causing choppy pauses when filming.

  • fortunately it is a firmware issue and not hardware, meaning once a fix comes out, you won't have to buy a new camera

  • Not all devices and gadgets are firmware upgradeable. It's perfectly possible that Kodak was planning on this gadget just being a temporary thing. It won't be long before the next thing comes out.

I Kodak left out a stabilizer on purpose, because companies have the tendency to trickle out the minimal next smallest increment, to keep buying more.

I bet adding the stabilizer would have only cost Kodak an extra $1 for Zi6, if not less even (an electronic stabilizer - wich WOULD be worth it).

  • What kind of a mount did you use with the Zi6 to mount it to your car?

  • It was sitting on a smushed roll of paper towels in my roof rack. i braced it up against one of the bars and used some gaffers tape to hold it in place.

  • Whats better the kodak zi6 or the Flip Mino??

  • holy crap this video quality pwns my dad's digital camera (it was like 300 bux, though it's 4 years old) does this thing have a flash on it?

  • Wow, Route 1 in NJ!

  • OK, I've just bought one. Can I ask how you uploaded the clip? I have taken some footage in both HD mode and VGA mode, however when I uploaded each clip directly, without using any video editing software, the HD clip was poor, it was the same quality as VGA with no difference. I was hoping the HD clip would be recognised by Youtube as being good quality and ultra clear, but it displayed it as if I shot it in VGA regardless. Did you upload the clip direct or did you use video editing software?

  • I have this exact same problem ! If you look at my Kodak Outdoor test, that is meant to be HD60 mode, yet look at this video quality compared to mine. I didn't even get given the high quality option.

1 minute of HD video is 80mb, making this far over the youtube 100mb per video limit.

Could you tell us what you did please?

  • youtube max limit increases to 1 gig

  • Well done. Sure is a step above the Flip camcorder.

  • Here's a geeky question, does it have VIDEO IN? I'm looking to replace my Sony TRV525 NTSC Handycam. It is a great Digital 8 HI8 Cam with FIREWIRE. The video conversion is excellent, but time is something it now takes up to input into the computer. You know, 5 minutes of video = 5 minutes to input, an hour = and hour. This camera seems like something I could use right off the bat - with a 4GB+ SD Card. Video In - does this cam has it?

  • No, i asked Kodak about that, possibly in version 2

  • Nice

  • While I had some initial skepticism, I think this zi6 is a pretty good sub $200 video camera.

  • Very impressive. Thanks for this.

  • what mount did you use?? im really considering buying this..

  • the quality just FINE no high quality

  • Great test. The video quality was very good. ( i watched it using &fmt=18 )

I think I will get this camera soon!!

  • So you've had this camera for a week or so now, what don't you like about it? Also if you've got time to answer, how much memory does it have out of the box, how much space does 10 minutes of high quality video take up, and how long does the battery last?

    Thanks in advance!

  • I still have yet to change the batteries, battery indicator is still at full. the video above was originally shot in HD 30 and is a part of a 13 minute drive time. that file was about 800MB. i think internally it only has 128Mb, you will need a SD card. it takes up to a 32GB

  • I can't wait for this to be released here in Europe.

  • Please post more Zi6 test, would love to see more.

    Thanks in advance
