George Soros is deceiving the public and our leaders by pretending that some "plan" to rescue our economy is a good idea. He used to be Jim Rogers partner for christs sake! They both know that protectionism and excess debt are disasterous for economies and have never worked. For whatever reason, George Soros hates the U.S. and capitalism.

Cindi3847, you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. You are an example of the old adage "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing". Soros did not "do this before in England". He traded currencies in England, not stocks. It's amazing that you have so much inside knowledge the trades he is making right now, even knowing that he "shorted the market".  Don't just read the whinny little conspiracy theorists out there and regurgitate what they are saying without thinking for yourself.

You are correct that I read this several years ago and forgot it was a situation of currency "manipulation". "Manipulation" is the key word however, and Soros did that. When Soros did this many people suffered and I do think that is a horrific act. I also have a problem with hedge fund managers so shoot away.

What makes you think he is not doing this currently? We know he did this before.

I'm curious how many Billions Soros made after driving down the stock market last week to capitalize on the poor retirees that sold low so he could buy low. He's done this before in England as well as this country. He's caused more older Americans to live their lives in poverty than anyone every.

I read your profile page and I'm sure you know how stocks can be manipulated and Soros has the ability to take key stocks and manipulate the price.

Just like in 1992, when Soros broke the Bank of England, he has done less high profile manipulations throughout his life.

No, he didn't bring down the entire stock market, but he helped in a way by his manipulation of certain stocks.

Also, I'm sure your mommy is very proud of your linguistic talents and magnificent vocabulary.

Okay, how exactly did he manipulate the markets? This short term volatility that you're seeing has to do with with all kinds of deleveraging by hedge funds as well as other institutions. I think you just have a political issue with him more than an economic/financial one.

He manipulated individual stocks just like he did with the Bank of England, not the entire stock market.

I am opposed to people that make money in the market in that fashion. I was also opposed to the Hunt Brothers that tried to corner the silver market.

I have an issue with the fact that his non-political philanthropic dollars leaves this country. I have a problem with someone that made his money here and claims to be an American, but sends his money overseas.

I've made some money over the last couple of years shorting US equities and now I'm buying Chinese equities and South American equities. So I made money in the US and now I'm sending it overseas. In a free market you should be allowed to do that. If you don't like, why don't you make some money overseas and then invest it in the states.

I live a comfortable life and take pride in the people that my efforts help. They are able to live in a home and can send their children to a good school. It's a difference in our priorities.
