Why are the C class AMGs gas mileage always atrocious compared to the other? The S63 gets 15-23 hell the SL63 gets 14-22 or something. The C63 doesn't give out nearly as much horsepower and is smaller than those. Why?!?!!

I used to be a BMW apologist until I drove a C63 Coupe last fall. It is just absolutely brilliant. Merc AMG is making now what BMW M used to make in the late 1990's and early 2000's. Car first, then the fancy electronic crap. Not the other way around like BMW seems to do these days.

My favourite car is still the BMW M5 E39, but I can't even think of saying the same about the new M cars. They're poseurmatiic, fiddly trash.

Very comprehensive review - nice work! Just a minor clarification - the dial with 'Comfort', 'Sport' etc. is not for the suspension settings...it modifies transmission shift points and engine speed only. The C63's AMG-tuned AGILITY CONTROL suspension automatically adjusts the damping, with no driver intervention. The Black Series is the only model with driver-selectable suspension settings.
