@schuminweb The MS-4424B was not helping things either. that FWR power supply is not very friendly to some electric horns. My 9806 sounds about as bad on the MS, and my 9219 sounds harsher, much like my U-NH-MCS. The 34T+WS still sounds like it should on the MS. I should double check the compatibility list from fire-lite's site to see which electric horn is ok to run on it.
@Federal3t22 and a quick check of the compatibility list, shows this horn was not compatable, and that's why it sounded like it did. oddly it said classic Spectras were, yet they sound horrible on MS-4424Bs (I've only tested mine on it twice).
Yeah, 120V version sounds better since it takes its vibration from the 60Hz ac power. 24V version has a mechanical driven contact so its frequency is not the same.
ummmm what? I kind of doubt the NCAA, NBA, or any other sports venue, no matter how big or small, gives two flying figs what brand of horn goes into their scoreboards, as long as it makes a sound when needed.
I guestimate it's around 20 years old. All adaptahorns look that flat when not mounted on the oversized backbox. My 876-N5 also looks this flat when not on it's box.
looks like it's working on my end. Youtube does this peridicly. If it says "video not available" where the video should be, try refreshing the screen. usually when a vid is pulled either by a user or yuotube, it'll say it in a red banner.
it does. Notice how I didn't smack it or tap it with a screwdriver like he does with most of them. Oddly enough my electric "892" horn has the same insides as the 881, but sounds so much better. I'll shoot a vid in April when I come back from Florida
You should try using the adjustment bolt on the back. It's brass colored. Set the alarm off and turn the bolt to fix the sound. I did that to mine and it sounds nice, see my channel to see how it sounds.
I thought about that. Yours sounds great. personally I think it might of been the MS, as it for some reason dosen't like electric horns all that much (especially Vibratone 450s [9806s] ). I'll test it again on batteries, and make adjustments if needed
When I got mine it also sounded bad. I fixed it by adjusting the position of the screw on the back and now it sounds like the one in my video of it.

@jemerson722 Yeah, I was about to say... that's the way they're supposed to sound. That rattly sound is the way they sound.

lets face it, there isn't such a thing as an Adapt-a-horn with good sound quality.

New NCAA rule- no "edwards" brand signaling devices on scoreboards- good ! They always sounded like someone pooping a diaper :)

Wow, that's a flat-looking Adaptahorn! How new is it? (I am asking because EST still makes these, to my knowledge).
