My husband and I applied for residency in 2002, and although he is a top programmer/analyst in the financial field who has been recruited twice by Goldman Sachs, and received job offers in London and Hong Kong, he has yet to get even a single interview in Canada where we wanted to be.
I like Canada, but he remains in the US where there is work and where jobs - even high end jobs - are advertised openly and fairly in the press.

In the US, i had worked on a work visa in IT field for $40 /hr back in 1998 but the story is different in Canada.
