  • ulllllllllllllllllllllllllla! alchemist should make more war of the worlds songs cos they r epic

  • I don't like this one. A lot of wrong chords.

  • I wish I was Australian...

  • Turn up LOUD!

  • this is the best man i love it go australian metal

  • There's a shot of a tripod somewhere near the start of this.....anyone have any ideas where it's from?

  • this is carp.

  • as a lover of both metal and war of the worlds, i think this is a perfect metallic rendition of the eve of the war... i've known this tune since i was 8 yrs old... it has fueled many nightmares since childhood... and i miss those nightmares... thank you for bringing them back... horns up, y'all...

  • @axeofgod72 Try Chris Brookes cover, not so obscure but brilliant anyway ;)

  • @axeofgod72 I was about to write a comment, but you have already written exactly what I would have written. Amen dude.

  • Where can I find this song?

  • Exciting killer version here !!! ;)

  • This is AMAZING! I really love the original piece but this just elevates it to pure epicness!

  • This is one of the best drummers i've heard. He has just that uniqe style.

  • i like this remake i think its a great remake of a great song

but i think the parts of the vid that shows that army "at work" is just horrific, i mean y did that soilder have to kick that guy in the head as he was walking past he was defence less he didnt have to do it but did any way. i know ppl are gonna comment back to this comment telling me to get a life and such but i think that it was a bit much. did they even hear of dont kick a guy when hes down?

  • nah i agree, just an arsehole on a power trip

  • completely

  • It's a metal version..... it's meant to be heavy!!!

  • Saw them perform this live at Newtown RSL, World War 3 tour. Video is great....Goes off live!!!

  • This is not very good!just leave it there lads,i'll tidy up

  • good on ya,,,you can tidy up by putting a bib on to catch all the verbal crap!

  • I'm watching war of the worlds right now! XD

  • I believe u were watching it at that time cuz that would make you wanna search for the musical version.

  • Movies all suck

  • I've listened to maaaaany awesome bands in my life, but Alchemist ist the most creative and most impressive one.

  • i'm pretty sure i saw this on rage once

  • Yes I was the same. I have only seen it the once on RAGE ages ago and t'was only till now that I found it again. This is awesome shit.

  • How does this only have 4 1/2 stars - I'm going to track all you homos down that didnt give it 5 stars and make you listen to ABBA.

  • Lemmy Kilmister likes ABBA dude

    what does that say? :/

  • lemmys got bad taste. sorry dude...

  • Love it!

  • wow, glad i found this vid! jj nixon is my cousin, and i only justlearned he recorded the guitar tracks, or some of them. rock on!

  • Any1 know where I can download this? :)

    watch?v=tFfZFvvuXWc

  • i saw them live at the arena nothing will beat this!!! ive seen meatloaf ub40 and they havent beaten this!! off to see brian adams in october whoooop!!!

  • i saw them live at the arena nothing will beat this!!! ive seen meatloaf ub40 and they havent beaten this!! off to see brian adams in october whoooop!!!

  • remember seeing this for the first time back in the 90's and was blown away by how good of a job they did!

  • HOLY SHIT BATMAN!!! Excellent cover. Who is this band and do they do anymore WOTW????

  • Thats Australian Metal Act Alchemist and yes they are still alive and kicking!

  • this is Alchemist one of Australia's finest metal acts, don't think they do more of WOTW but they are still alive and kicking and its worth getting a hold of their albums!

  • This is a good cover.

  • the chances of anything comming from mars, are a million to one he said.

  • anyone know where i can get this?

  • There was an Eve of the War EP with five other songs, try eBay for that.

Otherwise 'Embryonics' is the band's two-disc retrospective and still available - well worth picking up!

  • i like how the vid shows how bad the world is without the aliens coming to earth killing us where killing us for them

  • that is actually awesome! and i suppose a hommage to Jeff Wayne! :)

  • its gud but i like the jeff waynes bettr

  • awesome song!but there other stuff i dont like!

    anyways go aussies

  • nice song

  • It was actually 1997 when this came out.

  • vg cover brought the power up to date

  • I think it's great, and yes I love the original. I always say if your going to do a cover make sure it's a different genre of music to the original. Perfect guys spot on.

  • godd effort but it just seems too messy. the original is clean and it all fits together perfectly, thats what makes original so good

  • Bloody good effort

  • This is fucking great! gone are the days when we were afraid to say we saw any ufos. now its just common place amongst alot of us as too many of us have seen them now & or taken videos of them. so now we are all just waiting now for the fucking Govt to come clean about this. but I cant see a corrupt Govt doing this if they are actually making $ off secret alien technology for the sake of granting permission to use us humans for alien experiments

  • O.o

  • thanks heaps for posting this been wanting to watch this clip for years, great cover

  • lame compared to the original, had nowhere near the same effect as the original had.

  • Fantastic

  • Fucking brilliant!

  • I've been trying to find this song on the Net to download but I have NO idea who the artist is...

  • Alchemist from Australia

  • jeff wayne

  • Fuck yeah, How many years it's been since I heard this. Way better then the origianl.

  • it's good... could've been alot better, but hell, kudos, at least they had the nads to take a swing at it and come out with something halfdecent

  • well its nott he original (which i love and am basing my sleeve tattoo on) but its quite good in a strange way

  • EEEEEEEEEW. it's just so wrong. what the JESUS are those guitarists doing?

  • I agree it spoils the proper 1.

  • i like

  • This is one of the best videos I have ever seen. Even the disturbing war footage seems to be in context. Brutality of that nature seems alien.

    Fantastic music too.

  • i love this awsome s**t

  • THE single most underrated metal band on the planet, in my opinion. Fantastic

  • The heavy metal update suits this epic tune well. I enjoyed it.

  • extrem cool!

  • I cant' beleive how long i have been wanting to hear this again only to find it on youtube with a fucking video! Cheers!

  • It amazing how well a bunch of talentless assclowns can desecrate a classic work of art.

This version is to the Jeff Wayne's original as Gary Larson's Mona Lisa is to Leonardo's

  • You heard the track properly (i.e. besides on here)? you listened to any other work by Alchemist? their a million miles from 'talentless'!!! One of the most creative bands in metal. I take it you don't like metal anyways?

  • The footage of the tripods is taken from a film I got on Ebay (Australian) that I think was made for a college project originally ... not 100% sure, though.

  • Jeff Wayne's musical came out in 1978, the original H.G.Wells book came out in 1898. Alchemist recorded this tribute to both in 1998, 100 years after the book, 20 years after the (rock) musical.

    Peace, Glen.

  • this one is definately a rarity! thanks!!!

  • Havent seen this in a while! Rad shit!!

Ratz, you should put road to ubar up as well.

Bout time youtube got a tasty dose of Shmutz ala Frankenfurter!!

This version rips on the weak dub/dance mixes that the official WOTW site plugs.

    PS - Ratz is a babe ;^)

  • obvously this was re-made these guys on the guitars look modern like they only made it recently the track itself is a classic they just used the music as a guide and upbeated it!

  • No it was made in 1998!

  • :O

I never knew they made a version like this!

  • FUCKIN KICK ASS! I NEVER KNEW THIS TRACK HAD A VIDEO

  • :drools: dudeee.....I never they made a rock like version of eve of the waR! THAT TOTALY ROCKS!

  • the musical itself was rock , i think

  • Hey 'plagueofrats' - rare video indeed!

And great to see the clips here, that will tide me over until the DVD ;)

  • well done!

  • nice !!

  • OMFG
