as a lover of both metal and war of the worlds, i think this is a perfect metallic rendition of the eve of the war... i've known this tune since i was 8 yrs old... it has fueled many nightmares since childhood... and i miss those nightmares... thank you for bringing them back... horns up, y'all...
i like this remake i think its a great remake of a great song
but i think the parts of the vid that shows that army "at work" is just horrific, i mean y did that soilder have to kick that guy in the head as he was walking past he was defence less he didnt have to do it but did any way. i know ppl are gonna comment back to this comment telling me to get a life and such but i think that it was a bit much. did they even hear of dont kick a guy when hes down?

not being funny but why do people always get a thumbs down for not liking it? surely we are all entitled to our opinion???? i personally hate this effort as it is way to heavy on the ears and the whole idea behind the original for this piece was to capture the mystery of space, the approaching invasion, the heat ray and the people of earth and this does none of that. however, thats not to say these guys aint talented bcos they are, but this was not a good effort.
i saw them live at the arena nothing will beat this!!! ive seen meatloaf ub40 and they havent beaten this!! off to see brian adams in october whoooop!!!

this is Alchemist one of Australia's finest metal acts, don't think they do more of WOTW but they are still alive and kicking and its worth getting a hold of their albums!
I think it's great, and yes I love the original. I always say if your going to do a cover make sure it's a different genre of music to the original. Perfect guys spot on.
This is fucking great! gone are the days when we were afraid to say we saw any ufos. now its just common place amongst alot of us as too many of us have seen them now & or taken videos of them. so now we are all just waiting now for the fucking Govt to come clean about this. but I cant see a corrupt Govt doing this if they are actually making $ off secret alien technology for the sake of granting permission to use us humans for alien experiments
You heard the track properly (i.e. besides on here)? you listened to any other work by Alchemist? their a million miles from 'talentless'!!! One of the most creative bands in metal. I take it you don't like metal anyways?
The footage of the tripods is taken from a film I got on Ebay (Australian) that I think was made for a college project originally ... not 100% sure, though.
Jeff Wayne's musical came out in 1978, the original H.G.Wells book came out in 1898. Alchemist recorded this tribute to both in 1998, 100 years after the book, 20 years after the (rock) musical.
obvously this was re-made these guys on the guitars look modern like they only made it recently the track itself is a classic they just used the music as a guide and upbeated it!

There was an Eve of the War EP with five other songs, try eBay for that.
Otherwise 'Embryonics' is the band's two-disc retrospective and still available - well worth picking up!

Ratz, you should put road to ubar up as well.
Bout time youtube got a tasty dose of Shmutz ala Frankenfurter!!
This version rips on the weak dub/dance mixes that the official WOTW site plugs.
PS - Ratz is a babe ;^)
