wtf. the version I had on the megadrive (or was it master system?...I dont think so) had NO MUSIC in game and i think the background was just plain black
It would seem you completely misunderstand the point of the different sizes of rocks in the game. They're used to reach higher ground, to hurl at flying enemies and, ooh, maybe for the very obvious see-saw puzzle that you seem to fail at.
Sound has always been important to me in video games as i think it adds to the atmosphere and all-round quality of a game. The megadrive and Snes designers obviously overlooked this element, for whatever reason. Long live the Amiga!
Thanks for agreeing! Most people slag me off when i make these comments. I thought the megadrive had good graphics but the sound capability was a bit iffy which really spoiled the machine for me. The games were also hideously expensive and lacking in variety and imagination. All this applies to the Snes as well. These are basically the reasons i always preferred the Amiga.
This game would have been a lot better if it had maybe two or three more levels in it. Also, despite all of Chuck's non-rock-chucking attacks having no range whatsoever, this game was really easy. My brother can consistently beat it in about 20 minutes. It definitely has a lot of style though... and good music. Oh, and never ever play Chuck Rock 2.
OMG I was thinking bout this game months back and couldnt for the lfe of my remmeber what it was called. It bugged me for hours haha. Classic.

Any chance we can hear the whole opening theme? I know the other theme is already posted here, but this is the one I remember from Sega Genesis.

Clearly though, in the case of Chuck Rock, the sound effects are so crappy they're funny. <3

I have the Sega CD version, the sound is much improved from the Genesis/MD version.
cathyscurse 3 years ago
Anything will sound a lot better if its pulled off CD. The Amiga trounced the MD sonically and was floppy disk based!
retronostalgic 3 years ago
Is this the megadrive version complete with crap sound. The amiga was a better machine...
