It's actually pretty easy to make those octopus-sausages yourself. You just need to take half a sausage and make 4 cuts at the open side with a knife. When you cook it afterwards, the "tentacles" will bend outward, and it will look like an octopus.

For more info, watch Bento from Cooking with the Dog, that's where I learned this. :P

Nichijou has pulled off countless over-the-top scenes that were UTTERLY hilarious, and I've seen nothing recently, or in the past, which has reached that level of hilarity. I've laughed and laughed and laughed at this show, and I can't say the same for much else, especially lately.

@ZodiaMs I have seen PLENTY of anime, and no, I do not laugh too easily. There are VERY few "comedy" anime shows that make me laugh out loud like Nichijou does on a weekly basis. If you don't laugh that much at it, that's entirely fine, but just realize that EVERYONE else here is loving it, and you're not. Maybe you're the odd one out, not us.

And yes, if this is a "fail", then name another comedy anime that's better. I'd be glad to hear it, and check it out for myself. Thanks.

@HeroicPunk Gintama, school rumble, or Mitsudomoe. Try watching those, my cousin who is a fan of Nichijou who also laughs at these also found those funny. Except this is more generic and plain humor. They just over act on everything in this anime and the humor is just too stale and try-hard. What with their attempt on a Ahegao which wasn't even in the slightest bit entertaining just stupid. A over top comedy isn't THAT easy, yes, but it's not hard either. No references or any jokes at all, sad.

@ZodiaMs I haven't seen Gintama, but the other two, yes, I have. SR is quite funny, a fav of mine, and the same for Mitsudomoe, tho Mitsu is quite a bit different from Nichijou. And I wouldn't say Nichijou is generic at all, as they touch upon quite a few different comedic things, some of which I don't even catch being American, and not Japanese. And no, you're wrong about no references. If you pay attention, they have quite a few references, actually, most of which I had to look up myself.

Some of it is actually quite witty, smart, and far more unique than other "over-the-top" comedies out there. And there are quite a few jokes too, tho again, you have to understand some of the Japanese culture to "get" them. I got a few, and I'm sure I'm missing quite a bit more. I think you're over simplifying the show far too much. It's deeper than that.
