Dicovered them in 82 aged 15 post 'Love My Way' - New Romantics were to rule for 2-3 years but scratch the surface and I'm proud to be part of this....
great song so glad it was here when i went a-searching for it THANKS! one of my first shows 1982 with Our Daughters Wedding at the Eagles Hippodrome in Seattle with my friend Candace - My grandparents picked us up after the show and we couldn't hear a word they said to us in the car driving home cuz our 15 yo minds were blown HA #^*&@!! kicked ass saw them again in 84 and 85 front row center. : ) thanks again sir or ma'm.
I just saw them live and if they would have played this, that concert would have gone from awesome to superawesome. They only played one song from that album though.
I remember buying this first album,on a pure whim and having NEVER heard the Furs, back in 1989 nearly nine years after it was released. I will never forget the goose bumps that surged up my skin during India, to transform to tears of pure joy once this song did a seamless sugue from Blacks to Radio. Fucking superb!
This band was 40 years ahead of its time...and with this track alone..firmly labelled Mainstream music then and henceforth...under "Dross"....including stuff from that knob Eminem.
This cut was culled from the US release of the First Disc (called too controversial for the States). I had to hear it about four years later, and was slammed -- not only by the lyrics, but by the way this composition shows how the Furs handled their live approach, somehow combining two different songs, with a transition that's incredibly subtle, detectable only in the modification of the drums 4:00 -4:08. Suddenly, you've got "Radio"! Ingenius. Harsh. Caustic. Awesome.
frikkin excellent, thanks. Took me best part of fives year from release before I realised that I could not sing along with this tune.. took a trip to come to this conclusion. Their best LP without question. nice one :-)

I can't even begin to form the words to say how incredible this song is, and the Furs in general. Absolute perfection. One of my favs.

a seriously underrated song from the most underrated band - but that's after all how it should be.
