Well all I can tell is that he is playing the lowest string in the backround( which is tuned to D since its a 7-string) and then he just rips it off the way he does the best :). Propably some aeolian scales. Don't ask me what those scales are in the fingerboard cause I really don't know that stuff well.
@peelopuu Then don't try to answer a question. You aren't helping. Aeolian isn't a scale, it's a mode of the major scale. And 7 strings are tuned to B, not D.
I keep reading comments that Vai is satanic with the 777six string and UV's and it cracks me up.777 was the name of Steves 9th band not counting Zappa whith Stu Hamm/bass and Chris Frazier/drums.Where these guys come up with this stuff is beyond me,lol.
Yeah,that whole thing seems like nonsence to me.But I knew the 777 was his 9th band and probably why he named his first line of guitars 777's.But didnt know 7 was a holy number but it's good to know.Thank you for that.

First off, they are VERY wrong.. 777 would mean he's a Christian. 7 is God's number.
