I have the HV 30 as well and it's a good camera. but you're not going to get as many controls as you would with the HX-A1 and the lens isn't as good. there are large differences, but the HV 30 would not be awaste of money even if you later baught the A1
im not sure if i should shell out 2k for this camera or just get a hv30 hd which looks the same to me or even better?

you simply make it slow motion in post. on your editing system. it's not built into the camera.
