the songs are amazingly good, the film is totally pointless and shriya has proved she cannot act and vijay really needs to start acting in films with better storylines and really needs to take risks. He is playing too safe here.

i agree with you about simbhu...he sucks.but Ajith is actually better at acting than vijay, like for instance vaali, villain, godfather(imagine vijay doing bharathanatyam) and billa. And vikram is also very good at acting, like you said anniyan and pithamagan. but i wouldnt call vijay the best of the lot. he can dance but he deosn't take any risks like surya, vikram, ajith, barath.

IMO, Ajith's attempt at Bharatanatyam in Godfather was pathetic. Ajith's acting was good but he can't dance. Vijay on the other hand is a good dancer, one of the best in Tamil cinema. Also, Vijay has also done a lot of good movies in his career, just like Ajith, such as Poovae Unakkagha, Thullatha Manamum thullum, Once More, Ghilli. Once you reach a certain level of stardom you're expected to do larger-than-life hero roles. Comparing Kamal's and Rajini's movies movies in their early career...

and also, i think that no actor should attempt to do bharathanatyam unless they are trained eg Prabhu Deva, Raju Sundaram, Vinneeth. But the rest shouldnt try. Ajith looked funny when he danced, but he did try. And im not a big ajith fan.

but seriously, some of these actors need to see some sense, and start acting in decent films.

Vijay shot to stardom post-Thirumalai in which he portrayed a larger-than-life-hero along the lines of what the mainstream working-class audience likes. He did try to do different roles like the negative shade he did in Priyamudan and the movie flopped. That's what I meant by after you reach a certain level of stardom a lot of fans won't accept roles that are deviating from the image they have of you. Vijay's fan following in particular constitutes mainly of working-class people in India.

the songs were extraordinary...the film wasnt that great. and shreya def cant act. no offense to her--she can dance and shes got some of the best looks in indain cinema, but she cant act. evryone knows she just provides a sort of backdrop for the films she acts in. i think the only movie she did better than average in was mazhai.
