i've been spray painting for years now and have recently started space painting and only maybe ten times in all that time have i worn a mask and i'm not dead?! i also use my hand alot for painting and i really dont see how its possible to die from this?

You really should get a respirator. But if you work outside its not really THAT important, but it would still help. I use gloves because i hate trying to get the paint off my hands... By the way, you can die because you get little flecks of paint inhaled and it builds up in your lungs and burns them... But that is only one way...

Unless the paint contains lead he's fine. The guy was probably just trying to scare you. The respirator is the key thing he needs. Also even if the paint has lead in it you have to be exposed to it for a long time, as in you did this every other day for 10 years..

Okay, unless spray paint has lead in it, which it doesn't, i wouldn't kill him just by touching it. It eventually washes off.

It's just glossy poster board. You use the glossy side to paint on.
