As much as I hate smoking, I think having a burning cigarette in an ashtray on the desk would add a certain mood to the video. Also, I think it would be cool in black and white.
This is like an empty hole and it is like the time stopped or the unwritten words cause an inner whirpool that chase him in darkness, fear, emptiness.
Such a simple yet beautiful song. Even Rays quite damaged vocal chords really add to the atmosphere, gives me shivers. Fantastic lighting and directing by the way;)
Hey, thanks a lot. Yeah, I did this, geez, almost two and a half years ago, but it's still probably my favorite :). The room was actually huge, which allowed us to take the high ceilings and use them to our advantage. Using only a single light also made the black even darker, giving you the sense of both claustrophobia and emptiness. This song was perfect for the mood we wanted to set and matching it with the editing was simple, yet powerful. Thanks again!
Directed pretty well, the lighting made your room appear much larger then it probably was. Which I'm pretty sure fits along with "The Emptiness consuming me."
I Swear to Fucking God That I Thought This Was the Official Video Until I Read the Video Description. Amazing Job Man, Keep it up, You've Got Major Talent.
Thanks for all of your comments, guys! And sorta, I got an A, just not an A+ (I used a song with lyrics when we weren't supposed to, heh). But either way, I aced the class!
If you like my stuff, check out some of my other videos (though most of it's pretty old, sorry). I'm working on some bigger stuff, but if you ever hear the name Eric Church around Hollywood, you know how I started!
the 1st time i saw fates live , it was rays voice that blew me away , and my wife as well and she had only heard them once or twice, we just looked at each other and said WOW his voice sounds great ! they opended up with the song "one" and it sounded great ! and i actualy got to meet him while he was outside and i was glad i got to tell him that :)
I had to wipe some tears before posting this comment. Talk about POWER! Ray Alder's voice contained the same passion as The Bridge to "Eyes to Eye" by Fate Warning. OMG! I can hear what attracted Ray to this project and position with Redemption. FRESH!
I really, really liked that! I was referred here after you posted a comment about my band's EP song sample on the MP forum so I checked out your videos. You captured the mood really well with an extremely simple subject but excellent camera work and great edits!
TREMENDA!

Well done.

I don't think Alder's voice is as good as it once was, but he's still probably far beyond most loud rock singers.
