  • Compared to other Yes stage sets This is one of more sparsely looking sets ! Yet this re-incarnation of Yes was quite refreshing !

  • AMAZING !!!!!!!

  • Trevor Rabin is a GENIUS!!!

  • Where can i find the studio version of that song?

  • cheesefake: thanks for confirming what a tosser you are. You should know by now that posts, given that verbal and facial expressions are missing, are not always essay to interpret. I suppose I should have looked at you nom de plume, perhaps a tip off that you do not mean what you literally say. Pomo?

  • @ronhelf Oh how rude! I am very sorry to have offended you, ". You should know by now that posts, given that verbal and facial expressions are missing" I had no way of knowing that you are mentally "special". Good luck with your "essay" by the way.

  • Just found out that Jon Anderson is gonna get back with his brother Ian Anderson and form a new band called "Wow mother earth is so cool and stuff Tull" Should be awsome.

  • There's no Howe :(

  • @yourebrave I love Steve too, but..I adore Trevor..and Trevor wrote this song, lyrics & music, which he sings and plays so beautifully. Could say the same about the current 2011 Yes, where Steve is now back & plays "Owner Of A Lonely Heart" which Trevor wrote..but..no Trevor...as Trevor is now film scoring & no longer in Yes.

  • WOW, the 80's clothes, hair and sunglasses

    Thanks for the memories

  • I think the whole "Union" thing was great... why did it stop??

  • Thanks for the gift, I love Big Generator!! :-D

  • 1:58 "a way"! My favorite live version of this of Trevor with Yes. Trevor's playing here has a wonderful sense of time & rhythm..and his singing is the most beautiful I've heard on this tour.

  • Love this performance, probbaly the best from the entire "Big Generator" tour..the sound is pristine here. Trevor's vocals especially sound just exquisite & beautiful here, on one of my favorite songs written by him. What a radiant & exuberant song, so beautifully interpreted by Trevor. Jon doesn't flub the lyrics like he did at the 11/87 Philly show..Tony's keyboards are lush and warm.

  • The great Trevor Rabin on guitar !!!

  • @rodrigodlm Indeed! :-)

  • Haha my grandfathers brother was playing the keybord in this band :)

yhe my english is really bad

  • uhm... yes is not "hair metal"

  • Thanks for posting this video. Trevor has written so many great songs in his lifetime. What a pleasure it is to hear some of his live performances (even if the vid is not great quality). This posting is even more proof that there are more videos out there. Thanks so much for sharing with all of us. I'm marking this one as one of my favorites.

  • i feel like i just stepped out of a time machine

  • This song sounds WAY better live....the studio version is too cheesy (in a bad cheese way.)

  • Trevor contributed for three very good albums and three very different and dynamite tours. People speak about him like he wasn't part of Yes. I think he was unique in many ways. I am going to stand here and compare him to Howe writing Tales and Relayer... hell no! But so what? For three albums Yes was an exciting vocal band again thanks to the contributions of Mr. Rabin... not to mention- one hell of a good guitarist in his own right.

  • This was just hours before Trevor got landed on in the pool by a big fat lady and busted one of his spleens (turns out he had 9 or 10, so he could afford to lose one). Next night I was to see them in Jax but it was cancelled due to the emergency operation!

  • I adore Trevor, besides being eye candy, he is a true talent. I had the pleasure of seeing the Union tour of all the members in the round. Amazing!

  • thought this was gtr ?

  • Rabin is a bad ass.

  • かっこいい...(@_@;)

  • They decided to leave the guitar and harmonica solo out—that part was my favorite :-(

  • I fully accept that rabin did his bit to keep the Yes name alive in the 80s, but honestly you cannot compare this 4 minute pap with the glory that is Fragile, CTTE, Relayer, GFTO. If the name had died, it would have been reborn in latter days with the mighty Howe in place, and all would be well in planet prog rock. I'm sorry, but this is pap rock, and whilst it made them money, it wasn't from me.

  • Just found out Rabin runs a dry cleaning shop back in Australia where he was born! What a waste.

  • @chinesefake

better check again he's doin movie soundtracks all over the place

  • @chinesefake Rabin was from South Africa as a little bit of googling research would show. Thanks, however, for confirming for me how utterly insipid human beings are.

  • @ronhelf Thanks for confirming how gullible you are. It was a Joke dummy.

  • @chinesefake

not to mention ,,he is from South Africa,And,he has scored more than 60 film soundtracks

  • Rabin is pure talent. Yes wouldn't have survived the 80's w/out him. hands down to the guy.

  • ubetcha13- WELL SAID! The crap they're pushing on today's "instant gratification" crowd is complete and total musical $h!t! These "metro-sexual" idiots of today don't have enough balls, class or character to be as creative, innovative or experimental as most of the 80's peeps were. Then again, most of today's audiences are near-morons... who can really blame the lazy "players" of today for taking advantage of audiences. If I sucked, I'd take anything I could get, from anyone too! It's OVER, man!

  • Ht #1 rock, #30 pop in the US (Billboard). How'd it do in the UK? Jon Anderson made an egregious mistake by leavin' Yes, right, gang? God bless!

  • WOW! what a waste! I bet Rabin is probably a truck driver or sommit, now he was sacked from yes.

  • @chinesefake He wasn't sacked, he quit but he's making mega bucks still.

  • No solo? I know, no one in the band can play the harmonica, but extended organ or guitar? Oh well.

  • great post- man rabin is skinny....whoaa! is jon wearing 3-d specs here?

  • @mboll101x It is white makeup . He is into Native American culture

  • Big Generator was my first YES concert ever. I was in my early teens. Good times. I met the most beautiful girl that night (The Forum, L.A.), to make that night even more special. She was a tourist from Sweden. BTW, I just read in Prog Magazine, Rabin, Anderson, Bruford and Wakeman are in the talks to reunite and form a band. I also read how the other members used Rabin to the max in order to give the band the boost it needed. Trevor was forced by the record Co. to give his music to the band.

  • Can you imagine the size of the video camera that they had to "sneak in" to record this? Not like holding a little cell phone camera now! Think about it!!

  • @lisamarie656 Maybe a girl sneaked it in inside one her shoulder pads they used to wear back then. Not that hard if you think about it. : 7)

  • Personally, my favourite Yes song ever! Rabin's efffort here is just unbelievable. I used to love freaking out the whole room by blasting this song with it's violin/symphonic opening, only to find everyone at the party loved this song too.

  • because of owner of a lonely heart, i have come to like 80s yes, its because of this song, i have come to love them

  • @nucleardude11 I couldn't believe how much this song affected me. It now brings me back to an exact moment in time. Third row, centre floor at the CNE stadium in Toronto 1988 at 8:00 p.m. sharp to hear almost the entire 'Big Generator' album played right in front of me!

  • @teamster27 yo that is awesome, you are sooo fricken lucky

  • they sound good live.

  • trevor rabin is da man

  • Talented and oh so hot... Like Zorro here ; )

I've still got a thing for him x

  • no steve is.........although i have come to like trevor over the years

  • Great band, yucky album.

  • I can't thank you enough for posting this, such an incredible song by a stellar band.

  • I bet that concert was awesome. Id love to see 'em live, with Trevor Rabin of course...

  • I love Yes, and Big Generator is a good album, but I'd take Close to the Edge or Fragile first

  • Only hit #30 in the US. How'd it do in the UK? Jon Anderson never should've left 'em.

  • LOVE this song. Good album too. I am one of those who like the Rabin period the best.

  • will all the respect in the world to Steve Howe, I'm a HUUUGE Trevor Rabin fan.

  • I remember buying the cassette single for this song when I was 16.

  • oh man this superb!wow wat a treat!i remember the sportetorium

  • I like 90125 and Big Generator, and this is my favorite song from BG.

  • It's my BG - favorite, too. AWESOME track.

  • I agree that Trevor Rabin was totally underappreciated, he was very VERY good...

  • So cool I was at this show . But have to disagree Rabin yes is to comercial for me. Not nearly the genious of earlier line ups , Though Yes is awsome Period!!!!!!!!

  • No.

  • Yes.

  • I loved Big Generator, and I had been going to Yes shows since 1978! I agree with Rabin's assessment that this was the best that Chris Squire had ever been in voice. and Jon Anderson is like Graham Nash, he can harmonize perfectly with anyone

  • Rabin was totally unappreciated. His voice and harmonies with Chris & Jon, his guitar vituosity, producing, and his writing skills. NOBODY was better equiped for the position.

  • I didn't know that. I do think that Trevor's voice is much more well suited for this song. I love Trevor's vocals. I just think that he's Awesome!

This line up blew me away, and I am Not easily impressed.

  • I agree Rabin is underrrated. If I'm headed to the proverbial deserted island forever, 90125 and Big Generator are coming too. 90125 esp. IMHO is among the best (new material) CD's of the 80's. It ain't Thriller or Purple Rain or 1984, but it's damn good.

  • @uninoculated Totally agree. Trevor is gorgeous as well as a great singer/musician.

  • @uninoculated Touche'. Well said. Ditto. I became a big fan of Yes as a teenager because of Rabin. 90125 IMHO is one of the top albums of the entire 80's decade... Big Generator was also very good, and this was my favorite track from it:)

  • @uninoculated who?

  • What?!! This song isn't on any best hits albums?! THIS was THE song that made me a YES fan... Shame on the music company (Atlantic Records). Go, Yes, GO!!!!!

  • I yet can't get why they never included this one into their best hits albums

  • I don't get why they don't still do this live. It's a great song.

  • You're right. This is one of their finest songs & it should definitely be on any newer Yes G/H album. But the record companies almost always leave a few hits off either to make room for bonus songs or to encourage the public to go out & buy the original albums just to get the few tracks that didn't make the cut. Sucks that they do that but at least nowadays, you can just d/l one track instead of buying a whole album.

  • That makes sense....

  • I am a monster Yes fan TY for posting.

  • Awesome!! Thanks for posting!!!!

    Sludos

  • 80s is everything. Music made from heart be it expressions of hate, desperation, sadness, romance, elegance etc.

90s destroyed everything FUCK ALTERNATIVE ROCK, GRUNGE, RAP-ROCK CRAP!

Got NO SUBSTANCE, GOT NO HEART!

  • the 80's was the best time in music ever.

There was more experimentation and quality production that came out of that era it will never be the same with all this sample assembled crap we are subjected to now.

    HAIR METAL 4EVER!!!!!

  • @ubetcha13 Totally agree w/you. I'm 49 and I'll still be listening to the music of the 80's when I'm 70. The stuff on the radio is crap. Lada Gaga makes me want to GAG. :0

  • @ubetcha13 ...i have to disagree, although i toured & lived & played the music of the 80's and it was great, the 70's had the best quality of rock music, just to sto & think about all the bands (too much to list) is mind boggling, it started in the 50's, then the 60's sawmuch expansion & change & finally the 70's things were in full swing

just look at the bands at the 2 cal jams for example...

  • I disagree - there was more experimentation and risk-taking by the record companies from 1966 to about 1974. Examples: psychedelic rock, prog rock.

The 80s were unique but nothing like the 60s.

  • @ubetcha13

    I couldn't agree more.

  • haha I love Big Generator. It's so 80s. That and Owner of a Lonely Heart - I love them b/c they're sooooo cheesy, and b/c it's Yes!!!

    Roundabout is #1 always!!!!

  • as for Love Will Find a Way,I love this song but it makes me crack up/wince whenever they say the line "I eat at chez nous." hahaha it's a pathetically wonderful line

  • Hah, those outfits are completely insane.

  • 10-25-2009. Sake's alive, sake's alive, Jon Anderson is 65. Happy Birthday, Jon. Keep rockin'. Show these wanna-be's of today how it's done.

  • wish i could find this in studio version

  • I'm not a fan of Big Generator, but OMG, what a song!

  • I hate live concert appearances of artists on you tube because you can't hear it clearly for all the audience noise and distortion. You can't hear distinct clear sounds.

  • for an audience recording this is pretty much as good as it gets :)

  • the best song of yes¡¡¡ not only the music but the lirics...its...perfect¡¡¡¡

  • Awesome...I was there 1920...after ww1

  • this is my fav yes song

  • i love this song and i went to see jon anderson live last week and it was great

  • There used to be a version of this with the original video. What happened to that? Did the corporate idiots pull it?

  • Yup. They're broke.

  • i know, i was looking for it... so lame!

  • Why don't they tour with this line up. I think it would be better than the current one with that dude Benoit and Rick's kid. And since there is an 80's revision in vogue, it would't be a bad idea to check the best album of that decade. Just an idea.

  • Holy shit!.......This is video from the Big Generator tour. I was at one of those shows on that very tour. Brings back memories.

  • Mine too. My first Yes concert was with this tour at the Forum in L.A. I wasn't even in my early teens. But I had loved them since I was 7.

  • the sportatorium was a glorious dump i remember one day the sun shining through fololowed by a thunderstorm that cancelled the robert plant concert

  • These guys always are very impressive live! Asia stuff is also very good live.

  • Excelente rola ... se parece en partes a Time Stand Still de Rush

  • Buena observacion..

  • Y "Usted ser mi esposa", por Borat de país Kazajistán?

  • Gran Cancion!!

  • i was the type that would hear the music, and never sang along with the lyrics. so i would keep rewinding the guitar or drum solos. thus becoming a very annoying neighbor.

  • great guitar on this great tune i love Trevor but i'm a big Steve Howe fan as well youjust compare them they are totally diffrent guitarists each brilliant in their own way..long live Yes..last i heard Jon was not well..anyone know his condition today??thanx

  • Hey! I'm glad you have intelligent opinions on this stuff! I want to find the best YES clips on here. I'm a big fan. Help me out1 :)

  • I LOVE Big Generator! Love Will Find a Way is one of the greatest songs of all time. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Halfway decent vid...considering they take down the album versions on here!

  • thankyouthankyouthankyou for posting this!!!

    #@!

  • I was 6 when this came out and this was the first Yes song I ever heard

  • I was a couple more than six. ;)

  • I have no problem admitting I like Big Generator and 90125. I'm a big fan of the Trevor Rabin years

  • I saw Yes on this tour about 6 weeks before this posted clip...and they didn't play "Love Will Find A Way" I was bummed, because it's a great song. They played Holy Lamb from this album tho...not exactly what I wanted to hear.

  • DONDE ESTA EL VIDEO CLIP DEL TEMA , Love Will Find A Way ,LO BUSCO Y LO BUSCO Y NO LO ENCUENTRO PORFAVOR SI ALGUIEN LO TIENE KE LO PONGA GRACIAS....

  • DONDE ESTA EL VIDEO DEL TEMA , Love Will Find A Way ,LO BUSCO Y LO BUSCO Y NO LO ENCUENTRO PORFAVOR SI ALGUIEN LO TIENE KE LO PONGA GRACIAS....

  • Thanks for this, very much appreciated. What beautiful vocal sound, at the arena and in the recording. Love this song to boot - this is great! Thanks again, cheers from Montreal!

  • Great video ¡ and one of the greatest bands ever ¡ thanks ¡

  • great thanks love yes my favorite band of all time

  • Anderson sings great but for this song his voice just dosnt fit, Trevor should sing this alone

  • I absolutely love Jon Anderson's voice. Can you tell Geddy Lee of Rush was influenced by Anderson?

  • take off!

  • Hey! you take off you hoser. Take off to the great white North. It's a beauty way to go. Eat my smokes, eh? But ya caught me in the middle of breakfast. Eatin back-bacon. Mmm, beauty, eh?

  • Geddy emulated Robert Plant because Rush were huge Zeppelin fans.

  • Geddy Lee: bastard child of Robert Plant and Jon Anderson. But I love Rush, so don't get mad at me.

  • this is awesome - thank you so much!!!!

  • Wicked! I found it! Truth! Stage! YUM YES!

  • Thanks so much - never saw this live before! Brilliant!!

  • Thanks for uploading this song live :-)
