  • This video is ridiculous. He finds out that designing something that evolves is smarter than designing something that doesn't evolve. This only proves that a designer could be really clever and design something to be even clever-er in certain respects. Daniel Dennett sure outsmarted himself in this one.

  • @SeeProfileForDetails "Oh yeah? Well...GOD CREATED EVOLUTION! TAKE THAT SUCKAZ!" seems like God's work gets pushed further and further back, which *coincidentally* always happens to be the unknown. Agnostics "win", indeed.

  • @SeeProfileForDetails

    In fact the designed robots were allowed to evolve, they just weren't nearly as good as the "naturally" evolved ones -- again, evolution is smarter than you are.

  • Dennett = win!

    Dualists = fail.

  • @region1111 atheists = fail agnostics = win

  • incredibly good

  • That was, just brilliant. Such compelling clarity of thought.

    Thanks for posting these : )

  • Why is Dennett so loveable? I demand this man play Dr. Light in a Megaman movie. Or some scientist. The scientist from Spirits Within. Something. Stick him in a movie.

  • He's like an atheist santa claus

  • Wow. Talk about a holy shit moment there at the end with the robot simulation.

  • That's exactly the kind of thing the real world gives you. Sure, you could program in day/night cycles, but you can't possibly add everything.

  • Great vid! thanks.

  • Fantastic. Dennett's work is entrancing, thought-provoking and inescapably logical. Thanks so much for posting this!

  • Your most welcome. And don't forget to recommend this to all your friends.
