When I was small my family lived in Wilmington. If I misbehaved my father would say" do you want me to take you to live with the Hermit?" I never did meet him and he was killed when I was only 7. What I missed...

I have pictures of my Mom and Dad with the Hermit.  They gave him cigarettes and a beer. Their opinion was that he was one unique individual. They enjoyed the visit very much. I am sorry to hear he was murdered. I had no clue.... nice video.. Thank you :-)

this just upsets me how some one can be so brutal to go down there and kill him.. you know.. but in the end those people will get whats comming to them.. and were did he live at ft fisher.. ive been going to oak island for ever and going over to ft fisher and have bever heard of this man.were did he stay at? god bless this man and i wish i could live like that

That is a shame someone would do that to him. But at least we know he lived a good life doing what he wanted to do and was a positive example for others.
