  • Helicopters are sexy...j/s

  • Friendly care package inbound!!!

(srry i just had to say it)

  • @7blueblood

    LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!

  • will you please hover over my house for 20 seconds every fall, I'm sick of raking leaves.

  • WTF? What are you all for lucky guys ... :-( in my whole life i have never seen an Helicopter landing near to my house ...

  • amazing helicopter...crappy camera control

  • The CH-47 might well be one of the best rotor wings to come along. I was once a Crew Chief on the C model back in the 1970's . Back then we could out fly any craft in the Army inventory. I understand that even today nothing can outdo the "hook" in the high Afgan Mountains. This thing can fly at almost 200 mph (175 knots). Which is still pretty for a Helicopter.

  • you will need to save an other 50 to 100 year to be able to pay for the gass and fly it for some hours :D...!

  • That's a strange looking aircraft. UFO?

  • itu helikopternya punya bapakmu?

  • Macomb Michigan???

I live in Washtenaw County, MI!

Well anyway when I've seen these things fly over (Which is a rare instance) they flew over in pairs... hmm... Oh well.

  • @cornhonky434343 i live on ft rucker, we train all army helio pilots see them every day

  • Tight Spot

  • 1:40 - 1:50 awesome photography :)

  • i saw 2 of these flying by my school a week or 2 ago

  • wow.. the amount of air moved by that thing..

  • how cool is that, wow brings back memories.one the most unique sounds on earth.

  • this is a great british design and dont say its american cause its british research it i know cause i fly one of these

  • @hardnut451 Lmao, you are a sad jealous little fool. Hos is it a British design? Did the Brits own Boeing in Pennslyvania in the 1960s? You are so dumb its almost painful and I am certain you are NOT a pilot. People who go out of their way to say they are, 9 out of 9 times are not.

  • @phishinguy2000 ill take a picture of me nextto my harrier jet then to prove that im in the air force and u have british ancesters which means your british so shut the fuck up if it werent for us u wouldent have all this stuff u have now so show britian respect u fucking yank

  • @hardnut451 Are you 100% sure I have british ancestors? I may , who knows where the ONCE most powerful country in the world colonized or conquered. I do find it funny that your once colony kicked your ass, accepted your surrender and now dictates what you do. Now thats funny! There is now no doubt in my mind that you are not a pilot, that much I am sure of. I am sure most people who read your post would agree with me.

  • I agree with you :)

    thumbs up... :P

  • @phishinguy2000 lol hey let him dream, not all of us brits are muppets,

  • i had a chance to apply to pilot one of thease beasts

  • chinook is the fastest helio in the armys hangar there faster than an apache, kiowa, blackhawk, little bird etc

  • @himmler251 how about westland lynx

  • @SuperMareno

westland lynx is a british helio bases off of the UH-1 huey design, its the staple of the UK, german, and norwegian foces

  • @himmler251 yea and here the navy use them (netherlands) but they are faster right?

  • These things sound freaking awesome when they fly over. I live 40 miles from Moody AFB and I get to see these and Blackhawks fly over, and an occasional C-130.

  • i live by ft rucker alabama i live under a major coordior to an airfield, try havin one of these go low level over ur house at 1am lol

  • Nowhere near your house.

  • no its a 47 see 4 landing gear 46's only have 3

  • ya and the 46 is the navy/ marine version, its shorter has 3 gear and is grey

  • Just imagine having this big hunk of machinery landing not more than 30 feet from you, MAN WHAT A RUSH!!

  • What are they doing around your house?

  • the best chooper

  • Im saving up for one.. I make 14 bucks an hour.. I figure when i am 200 years old ill get one

  • lol good luck son, not even ur life time!!!!

  • @adam3176 now when you have one you just need to work about one month to pay the fuel for 60 mins flying ;D

  • @adam3176 good luck with that lol

  • @adam3176 just join the Army and have one for free! :)

  • i want one!!

  • when obama came to california i saw 2 of those fly by.

  • Yeah i saw that to on a programme about Marine One. His heli arrived at the UN and there was the two Chinook's which landed nearby. Perhaps those are used to get him out fast? Considering there is another Boeing which follows Airforce One. Not sure, but I imagine that's what they are for.

  • @AHickenUK ...HMX-1 wich is the Presidential chopper unit actually uses the Seaknight which is like a baby version of the Chinook and it's used by the Marines and the Navy......

  • Ahh thanks, didn't realise it was a SeaKnight

  • there not ch47s there ch46 sea nights the navy version, which are smaller than a 47, trust me i live in ft rucker alabama home of army aviation

  • Yeah every while i see 1 too there great

  • man i woul of got on those wheels and held on untill i got to where ever they go

  • i live in Michigan and i see these things fly over every little while and there AWESOME!!!!!

  • i LOVE the sound

even if they are at a few KM up, you can still feel the vibrations :P

  • When Pres Bush went to Lemars iowa, i live in merrill, a blackhawk touched down in my back yard..TITS

  • WOOO MICHIGAN. two of these monsters flew over my school today

  • i live in Michigan

  • God bless our Troops!

  • Why would God bless your troops?

  • Comment removed

  • Just like is says in the bible, right?

  • I think the bible also says that he's a Cowboys fan, that's why there's a hole in the roof so he can enjoy the 7th day resting and watching football.

  • So when did God pick America to side with is my question?

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks! The moment I ask a critical question you accuse me of being a Communist. Since we're throwing insults around I guess I'll call you a religious bigot. Why not "God bless all the troops in the world". A blessing to EVERY soilder who fights for the idea of their country. Not just God bless our troops. Yes I know I'm proposing very Communist ideas here. God hates Communism.

  • @jayers2 oh yeah? well im communist and god doesnt seem to mind me too much so fuck you too

  • when chritsopher columbus found it.

  • so our troops go to the poor nations of the world to kill people we can lose which freedom? What could possibly justify what we have done to the 3rd world, look at Columbia still. There not complaining if your not listening, they complain a lot they want to go home, have more of a rotation, something bullet proof to wear and to have quality health care for there veterans. Theres are all things they have openly complained about for years. When was the last time we fought someone we didnt arm?

  • That's a good question. I never thought of that. Isn't God suppose to bless everyone? Foreign and domestic?

  • Why did they land there anyway?

  • I suppose they landed because they had to cool down the engines.

  • the rotors always look like they will hit each other..they don't but they just look like they do

  • ha wow fuckin army

  • why did they do this ??

  • my god lower your standards abit you on a public video site

  • :p le bruit et les passages prés sont extra :p

  • so who is taking us to summerschool today...the yellow bus or the army with a chinook?=))

  • the yellow bus

  • a little less drinking for that steady camera hand would make us all more thankful and me personally happy :))

  • best moment is in 8:20!!!

    great video THX

  • lol the black hawk is good but.....with the chinook you can take alsorts of terrorist killing artilery in the back and still have enough power to take a tank with you XD 50 years ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ....wtf

  • Chinooks are only supposed to carry ground troops not fight

  • they can have weapons attacked for support though

  • y did it land there?

  • Great vid. One of my best friends is loadmaster. He is in Afghanistan my best wishes go with him. He wanted to leave the RAF. I asked him why ? He said he was tired of being shot at. Brave guy.

  • I had the President land in my home town

about two months ago in Marine One which is a CH-53D which was awesome because there where 5total to accomadate not only him but also the secret service and everyone else. I've never seen so many cops and law enforcement in my entire life there where 100+ secret service and another 100+ cops.

  • mattster1: was that in northern ca?

  • No it was in Park City,Ut which Is a small ski town about 20 miles from salt lake city.

  • Where in Park City? I couldn't tell.

  • It was in the field of our local middle school.

  • marine one is not a ch53...

  • cool vid. thanks.

  • Great vid.....but why did they land there???

  • THat was way too close to those trees

  • i live near a place that restores and referbs sea king helis, and they test them every now and then

  • something like this happened to me, freaks you out a bit seeing a huge helicopter lowering from the sky across the road eh :P

  • ...next from above.

This Chinook landed next to the Macomb Country Sherif paking lot near where i live.

When they leave, they make 360 degrees rotated straight up and flew about 100f pass over our head then make a hard bankturn. I was very difficult to stay standing under when it tookoff.

    Cheers

  • Thanks for all nice comment!

This Chinook was services in Iraq and was back for repair at Selfridge airbase in Michigan. The pilot said; It got some shot in the fuselage and the blades had some bullet holes. But it had repaired before to landing here, the same of 3 pilots was flew this heli in Iraq. All of them really friendly and talk to us all about the machines and themself in combat. I've able to walk through and sit in the cockpit. It really nice.

    ........

  • simply awesome footage!!!!

  • i see these in washington regularly.i even sometimes see apaches flying and blackhawks flying past george washington university but i never saw one this close. the only time i ever saw one close was when the blackhawks were flying in the heli formation(straight line, not the arrow formation)

  • yeh its a smaler turbine engine caled an apu (alternativ power unit i think dont quote me on that)and it powers all the hydroliks and power so they can do preflight before turning the main engines on

  • APU - Auxilliary Power Unit. Keeps the hydraulics and elecrical systems powered once the main engines shut down.

  • Does thoes apu's? I noticed after the main engines shut down it sounded like a smaller turbine was still running.

  • cooling unit...

  • Great video you have there Upvideo. If you could tell me more about how this landing and the presentation was set up ? I guess it was worth every dollar in terms of how much that would have cost.

  • army national guard in windsor locks has a few at bradley airport. i see em all the time too.

  • Damn ! Awsome ! I don't see them often in Belgium (NEVER !)
