The CH-47 might well be one of the best rotor wings to come along. I was once a Crew Chief on the C model back in the 1970's . Back then we could out fly any craft in the Army inventory. I understand that even today nothing can outdo the "hook" in the high Afgan Mountains. This thing can fly at almost 200 mph (175 knots). Which is still pretty for a Helicopter.
@hardnut451 Lmao, you are a sad jealous little fool. Hos is it a British design? Did the Brits own Boeing in Pennslyvania in the 1960s? You are so dumb its almost painful and I am certain you are NOT a pilot. People who go out of their way to say they are, 9 out of 9 times are not.
@phishinguy2000 ill take a picture of me nextto my harrier jet then to prove that im in the air force and u have british ancesters which means your british so shut the fuck up if it werent for us u wouldent have all this stuff u have now so show britian respect u fucking yank
@hardnut451 Are you 100% sure I have british ancestors? I may , who knows where the ONCE most powerful country in the world colonized or conquered. I do find it funny that your once colony kicked your ass, accepted your surrender and now dictates what you do. Now thats funny! There is now no doubt in my mind that you are not a pilot, that much I am sure of. I am sure most people who read your post would agree with me.
These things sound freaking awesome when they fly over. I live 40 miles from Moody AFB and I get to see these and Blackhawks fly over, and an occasional C-130.
Yeah i saw that to on a programme about Marine One. His heli arrived at the UN and there was the two Chinook's which landed nearby. Perhaps those are used to get him out fast? Considering there is another Boeing which follows Airforce One. Not sure, but I imagine that's what they are for.
@AHickenUK ...HMX-1 wich is the Presidential chopper unit actually uses the Seaknight which is like a baby version of the Chinook and it's used by the Marines and the Navy......
Thanks! The moment I ask a critical question you accuse me of being a Communist. Since we're throwing insults around I guess I'll call you a religious bigot. Why not "God bless all the troops in the world". A blessing to EVERY soilder who fights for the idea of their country. Not just God bless our troops. Yes I know I'm proposing very Communist ideas here. God hates Communism.
so our troops go to the poor nations of the world to kill people we can lose which freedom? What could possibly justify what we have done to the 3rd world, look at Columbia still. There not complaining if your not listening, they complain a lot they want to go home, have more of a rotation, something bullet proof to wear and to have quality health care for there veterans. Theres are all things they have openly complained about for years. When was the last time we fought someone we didnt arm?
lol the black hawk is good but.....with the chinook you can take alsorts of terrorist killing artilery in the back and still have enough power to take a tank with you XD 50 years ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ....wtf

you are a horrible cameraman or woman. When it is landing we dont wanna see the helicopter lowering in sky we want to see the ground and the helicopter so we can see how slow or fast it is landing...
about two months ago in Marine One which is a CH-53D which was awesome because there where 5total to accomadate not only him but also the secret service and everyone else. I've never seen so many cops and law enforcement in my entire life there where 100+ secret service and another 100+ cops.
This Chinook landed next to the Macomb Country Sherif paking lot near where i live.

I've able to walk through and sit in the cockpit. It really nice.
