Oh man, just listened to the 'No Respect' album last night for the first time in many a year, thank God I still have a cassette player!^^ Love this album, love this song and please ...come back all you long haired, tight trousered sleaze/glam rockers!!
hung out with these guys on their tour bus when they played The Empire in Philly as guests of Warner Brother's Records. DEBAUCHERY EVERYWHERE!!!!!!! and i hadda be in school the next day! New London opened for them i "think"
Agreed but Vain were to late, sadly. If they had been signed and released No Respect in 86 they would have been superstars. Same thing happened to Love/Hate, Bang Tango, the Sea Hags and the Sleaze Bees.
Grunge was inevitable though, Glam had dominated for too long.
they actually just got back together again about two years ago and have been touring a bit. so keep an eye out for them. they might come to your town. and they're still really good.
love it i can remember my mum listening to this when i was little n she'd be gettin ready to go to the mayfair shame it's closed always wanted to go there
Vain had EVERY QUALITY Necessary for Big Record Sales in the 80's - Glammed Up Image - Charismatic Singer -Fiery Riffs -Hair everywhere - but without the record sales!
These songs are great! I listened to the 1st 3 albums constantly. The guitar work is all very tasty & the solo in this song is wicked! There were a lot of bands with this look & vibe but the guitarists were lacking. This solo shows a very talented guitarist w/ a killer tone.
Hey guys it's Gwyn. First time I've seen this.......... I know long time. I wonder how you guys are doing......... Remember you first gig at my house.... Get ahold of me at lady51x50 at American on line would love to talk to you.........
Sorry, nothing like an "Out There" comment. My message was for any of the guys from Vain, Davey, Dan, John, Chuck, Tommy. I knew them years ago, you could say their first gig was at my house. Then a few years later used to watch them play at the Stone in S.F. and hang out at Danny's girlfriends after. Just wanting to say "Hey" and would love to see where life has taken them.
ma quanto siete magici?? davy hai una voce davvero unica.. e in questo periodo l adoro particolarmente.. ^^ grazie al mio piccì che mi ha fatto conoscere le vostre canzoni che oggi abbiamo cantatooooo!!
highly underrated I'd rather listen to this over Poison,Warrant,Enuff Znuff and Nelson. Unfortuantely Vain(just like Hurricane) got caught up in the bands that didn't get the push when grunge came out.
What a criminally underrated band. Such a shame that it was bilge like Poison caught the dying sputters of the glam metal limelight. My sister was lucky enough to see Vain live in London back in the early 90s. I'd never even heard of them until she brought No Respect back with her, but it's still one of my all-time favourite albums. Thanks for posting!
