I can go look at the video right now and see the stock steering wheel being turned, the entire interior (other than the drivers seat being replaced with a racing seat for safety) was left completely stock including the radio and A/C. A roll cage was added, again for safety, as were fire extinguishers inside the cockpit and engine bay. What "official" track times are you referencing?

As an addition it clearly states "General Motors conducted test,[13] base specification car with optional super-slick track DOT competition tires (Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Zero Pressure)[14] and non-stock safety equipment including a roll cage equipped, video confirmed." next to the 2012 ZR1, NON STOCK EQUIPMENT.

@Rethgore Really, I don't see a manual gear box in the car..I see automatic paddle shifters. What's wrong with PDE? It's a wheel/tire option available for any ZR1? What's wrong with Magnetic Ride Control? It's a standard feature on the ZR1. I didn't see rain, or standing water, or even beading water on the track..besides with the AWD system minimal amounts of water doesn't affect the GTR. Porsche proved that with a STOCK GTR it was impossible to get within 25 seconds of Nissans lap.

Switzer has an equivalent package called the R1KX.
It dyno'd higher than the AMS Alpha 12 (1250 awhp on a MUSTANG dyno, versus the 1300 awhp of the AMS Alpha 12 on a Dynojet Dyno which reads much higher). Being fair, the AMS car has the 1/4 mile record of 8.97 compared to the R1KX at 9.01 - but obviously you need same day, same track in order to decide the winner here.
@Xeriuw0w This was in the wet, dork. Big difference. An AMS Alpha 12 can do the 1/4 in the dry in 9.05 seconds, so obviously the water slowed them down considerably.
This car on dry pavement can do 4 wheel peels in acceleration and is capable of high 8 low 9 second 1/4's so it's clearly not pushed to it's limit in the wet with it running 11's, would love to see this car run again in a dry mile.

@Rethgore Wow...got any proof to support this claim of yours? I can go look at the video right now and see the stock steering wheel being turned, the entire interior (other than the drivers seat being replaced with a racing seat for safety) was left completely stock including the radio and A/C. A roll cage was added, again for safety, as were fire extinguishers inside the cockpit and engine bay. What "official" track times are you referencing?

@TheBulldawg4life the "official" track timing from the Nordschelife, where it's required to state specifically if you're using OEM Tires or not, which is added to the track timing list. As an addition it clearly states "General Motors conducted test,[13] base specification car with optional super-slick track DOT competition tires (Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Zero Pressure)[14] and non-stock safety equipment including a roll cage equipped, video confirmed." next to the 2012 ZR1, NON STOCK EQUIPMENT.

Technological masterpiece? You said the GTR beat the Z06 by 5 seconds at Top Gear, the only way that's factual is if you're using the lap time performed by the 2005 C5 Z06 dipshit. @TheBulldawg4life The ZR1 was fully optimized for warm, dry conditions with the tires, additional High Performance packages (PDE), Rigidity improvements etc. Quite frankly, its not the ZR1 you pick up at your local chevy dealer. A dry track easily pulls 5 seconds from a lap as long as the nordschleife, fuck do you have any idea 'bout the difference in grip it makes? Even temperature effects traction more than you dare believe.

@Rethgore Really, I don't see a manual gear box in the car..I see automatic paddle shifters. What's wrong with PDE? It's a wheel/tire option available for any ZR1? What's wrong with Magnetic Ride Control? It's a standard feature on the ZR1. I didn't see rain, or standing water, or even beading water on the track..besides with the AWD system minimal amounts of water doesn't affect the GTR. Porsche proved that with a STOCK GTR it was impossible to get within 25 seconds of Nissans lap.

@Rethgore I'm watching the video of the 7:24 lap time right now, and it starts off with a shot of the bright sun high in the sky. "Semi-wet" conditions equate to "it rained recently, but isn't raining, and the track is dry in the racing line." You call me a fool, while claiming there is an "official" 'Ring lap list? You're looking at wikipedia and calling it "official" Go to college, maybe then you'll understand the hilarity in your statement.

@VpY22 The R850 is no longer sold (the R900 and R1K replace it).
Switzer has an equivalent package called the R1KX.
It dyno'd higher than the AMS Alpha 12 (1250 awhp on a MUSTANG dyno, versus the 1300 awhp of the AMS Alpha 12 on a Dynojet Dyno which reads much higher). Being fair, the AMS car has the 1/4 mile record of 8.97 compared to the R1KX at 9.01 - but obviously you need same day, same track in order to decide the winner here.
My money is on Switzer, but I'm biased...;)

@Xeriuw0w This was in the wet, dork. Big difference. An AMS Alpha 12 can do the 1/4 in the dry in 9.05 seconds, so obviously the water slowed them down considerably.

This car on dry pavement can do 4 wheel peels in acceleration and is capable of high 8 low 9 second 1/4's so it's clearly not pushed to it's limit in the wet with it running 11's, would love to see this car run again in a dry mile.
