It's not a magnet, just small pins on the bottom of each domino that is pushed back up as the arm passes underneath. You can see it if you look hard enough.

I love it! It is great how a bike rim is used they attached pegs to the underside connected to the cominoes and as the bar passes around it hits the peg either knocking it down or standing it up very nice use of dominoes. What would be really cool would be to maybe incase the center is a cone-shaped mirror so that you would see duplicate of the dominoes falling and popping up. There are so many possibilities to this. You could even add chimes so that it is musical very good work!
