  • hahahaha

  • i think that cannibus samples the willie hutch track too at his track niggornometry, is it right ??

  • This guys a beast

  • This Guy is awesome!!!

  • The horns on the intro of track number 6 ( Soul Travellin' by Gary Byrd & the G.B.E) was also sampled by Soul II Soul on Jazzie's Groove back in 1989

Me being naive at the time thought Nas sampled it from them... How we like to make our own history lol

  • That third track... something from earlier today.... see hmm got my license, drove home, dropped off my ma, oh and then i drove on 99th, lynnwood to shoreline, listening to Common - Go!(the ending has the sample). Good day =)

  • bahh i've fallen behind on your videos!!!!! MUST. CATCH. UP.

  • cool dude...I can improvise to, but it comes out silly love the soul music

  • @gl514 that question should be on the sat, or act.

  • @vexx37

haha i could see a bunch of "promiscuous" girls bein able to answer that all too easily

  • you killin it right now.

  • @ 5:07 Soul II Soul used the trumpet solo in Jazzy's Groove.

  • great stuff!!

  • I Understand you the music know days sucks. i like jazz and soul etc. also oldskool hip hop. thanks 4 tha sample's '

    i am 17 years old

  • so much soul he has

i couldnt sniff an 8th of kain and feel this way

  • P-Funk philosophy is sssoooo deep. By far the best concert I ever been to was a George Clinton P-Funk All Stars gig. 3 1/2 hours of real music.

  • funktuall, how can you not mention though that the drums from that 45 king one is actually ike & tina turner - cussin, crying & carryin' on. 45 king just looped that break up and worked that vocal on top

  • I am new to this sort of thing. How do you separate the tracks on a song like that? Do you need the vinyl?

  • Good music and good YouTube channel

  • ...And they say white men can't dance 3:13 lol

  • gotta love this guy...more energy than a duracell bunny, nice to see the passion

  • You gotta love this guy. Keep doing your thing funktuall!

  • I <3 You Tecmo Bowl... :)

  • devin the dude - party sampled that im ready joint

  • haha mad jokes this is great man, def subbin

  • I'm seriously thinkin' you can do a TV Show on HBO.

  • @gl514 Canibus right.. i remember that song ... good ear.

  • @michaelcooperwoti classic shit

  • Yo whats up DJ Funktuall! Your Channel Is My Top 5 On Youtube :)

I got a question,What Song Did Ed OG and The Buldogs Sampled In Their Song "Love Comes And Goes"?

Peace & Respect From Serbia :)

  • Funks tha man!

  • this guy is sooo cool,:) thumbs up man! you got taste in music by the way!!

  • Sorry I didn't watch during the actual halftime show, but this is by far way better.

    10:25 Funktual ftw.

  • where do you get the energy funktuall

  • @CapitalRSL Isn't it obvious? I get it from the Funk!

  • @funktuall congrats for your knowledge, all the effort you've put into this and of'course thank you for keeping us educated; i was going to ask you if there was somebody paying you for what you do - don't know a lot of people that would do this for free, as you do

  • @funktuall first time I saw your video several months ago, somebody made a comment you should be given a tv show - would be glad to her that you do (if that's what you'd like); my favorite one from this video is 'Brothers Gonna Work It Out', because it takes me back to the 90s, when Dr Dre was rockin' with The Chronic

  • Kano - Italodisco outfit from the early '80s, not the UK rapper - sure brings back memories...

  • Lloyd used a sample for this to for "feels so right"

  • the second song you played, Project pat sampled i chose you also. i think he was the first to do so than UGK sampled it after him.

  • I live out west now in Cali and I miss how authentic and genuine people are on the east coast and midwest. Too many poseurs out here. Not everyone, but damn, its superficial out here. I need some REAL!

  • You Rock! It's a FACT. :)

  • LL Cool J Sampled that Willie Hutch sample for the Farmers Branch Anthem

  • Maybe I didn't already say it already, but I owe you a ton, my man! You've gotten me turned on big time to getting these samples, bringing the funk and getting turned on big time to my roots in old school hip-hop/funk! Peace, bro!

  • I REALLY wish I'd watched this instead of the Black Eyed Peas "performance"

  • the brothers gonna work it out by willie has the harp strings the premo used on classic... correct me if im wrong

  • Track #4 during the break, listen to the horns. Now go listen to Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl". The Neptunes don't sample per-say , but they always sneak stuff in there. The (super powerful) kick and clap from Hollaback Girl was actually sampled from an older record (that I'm forgetting right now) --not as a loop just the kick/clap individually.

  • Brothers Gonna Work It Out = 2pac's Secretz Of War (Original)

  • Some dop shit funk

  • @Funktuall.. I got a question who sings this songs hook for the song called "Pimps" from the 8ball and MJG ( Coming out hard ) album. She is saying.. " I just can't seem to get my feet on the ground." I have been trying to find out who sings that for 5 years and no success.. Can you help bro?"

  • no black out bitches...

    ive been diggin this shit

  • I do dig.

  • Funk you know what, I'd have gladly watched your halftime show over the Black Eyed Peas if I hadn't been in Vegas getting absolutely smashed while watching the game. 45 down 55 to go till 100, keep up the hard work brother.

  • You've turned me on to some great stuff already. Man, I really thank you! I have got to get MUCH more of the funk in my collection! Love that Bop Gun finale, my man!

  • Hey Funk......you lipsync better then The Black Eyed Peas!

  • Keep diggiin brother!

  • @iamenfuego Maybe you seen me live then? I spin every Thursday in Brooklyn at this dope spot called LP 'n Harmony. 683 Grand Street b/w Manhattan & Graham! Never used it in a Top 10 though.

  • @funktuall bangn beats

  • @funktuall time?

  • @funktuall no way... i want to live in NY i would see u at LP but but i live in WACK ASS CALII

  • @funktuall I now have a reason to visit NYC.

  • @funktuall

Just a question, what type of crowd do you attract there at LP & Harmony???

Next time I'm in Brooklyn.....I'll stop by!

  • I was digging yesterday and I found the Kano and the Prince (12" though) records in one shot. Wild. Props from Japan.

  • The man with the master plan does it again, Funk! 111 million people shoulda seen this & not that.

  • YES! Brothers gonna work it out is such a tune!

  • i wish i saw this instead of the halftime show

  • Tina Turner's Cussin', Cryin' & Carryin' On was used for that 45 King sample.. Track my mom used to play all the time..

  • LMAO.. my brother would drop back to the 10 yard line and throw a bomb all the way down the field.. lol.. gotta love Tecmo Bowl..

  • i was here at halftime yesterday, with my Sonys on my ears and BEP on the tv screen. I had to participate somehow due to familial duties. peace Funk

  • Great Job as Always Funktuall

  • The first track is AMAZING!

OOOHHHHH YEEEAAAAAHH WE KICKING THE FLOW, WE KICKING THE FLOW AND IT GO A LITTLE SOMETHING LIKE THIS!

    HAHA:)

  • ...The best video with "Super Bowl" in the title, EVER! :)

  • Hell yeah i seen "The Mack" that movie made me ..well sniff. Check out 9th wonder's "Black is back" all samples from "superfly" and "the mack"

  • Tecmo Bowl

    Bears were the shit!

  • the beat at 8:30, house of pain also sampled that

  • @ 1:24 public enemy also sampled that intro

  • Sorry, sorry - I had family round to watch the SB live - our first time ever here in in-grr-land. They wanted to watch the half-time show. Think it will be my last though! Thought the game was good and can see why you guys like it so much. But I /we could not cope with all the stoppages/breaks (no pun intended) - don't hate me! AS ALWAYS - A GREAT POST. Sexy coffee pot was used to advertise Clarks shoes here a few years ago.

  • Here in Chi-Town, "Brothers gonna work it out" is A DEEP HOUSE ANTHEM!!!!!

  • God! That was definitely one of the best episodes so far!

  • I really enjoyed this episode! When you played Willie Hutch, I got the instant stank face! I sampled "I Choose You" in one of my joints, and it was dope. Hutch made such incredible music!

  • Beautiful

  • YOU DA MAN FUNKTUAL!!

  • Biggie!!!

  • Browns!!! All day!

  • Funktuall what do ou think of the new mc's coming through like J. Cole etc.?

  • I've been expecting you to do the Tony Alvon and Bel Air's sample! It was like I saw that shit happening. Anyway, love that drum break on that joint! stunk it up!

another one for the books, funk, and a classic one at that

  • Greatest video yet .

  • @funktuall

I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that. You're right though, you have given alot, much props and thanks.

  • Pity you didn't feature any samples from Bob James' "Touchdown" ;)

  • Go funktuall!!! Go Packers!!!

  • I have the 12" of "I'm Ready" / "Holly Dolly" by Kano. The only thing is one side is pressed WAY off center!

I also have the 12" of Prince- "When Doves Cry / 17 Days.

I got stuck seeing part of the halftime show because it was on where I was at, but I rushed home thru the snow so I could watch this video.

I'm re-posting my video of "Bop Gun" right now!

  • Funk my bad... Lol

  • Funk has been absolutely MURDERING the Top Ten Vids lately. Thank you!

  • lol much better than black eyed piss

  • Funktual, THA TEACHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep schoolin these knuckleheaders bro!!

  • wow, infinitely better than that piece of shit they put on for the superbowl

  • It was worth taking a break from not watching the football game, to not watch the halftime show.

  • thanks brother wayyyyy better than the halftime show!

  • Holy crap... the music of Parliament Funkadelic suddenly makes sense now!

  • halftime at funktuals.. yeeeah baby..

  • I'm here, Funk! Halftime listening party!

  • Phat segue into Willie Hutch. I have a house track that samples "Bros Gonna Work It Out". Finally, I find out where Jazzie's Groove where came from.

In total, anotha DJ Funktual classic in the books. Back to your scheduled spearing... er, Super Bowl :P

  • I totally agree not enough people are prepared to just let it all go and express themselves to the fullest - the 'cool' facade sucks big-time its what kills a lot of good ideas, so much of the music industry these days is pre-occupied with being cool, could you imagine a funkadelic or parliament even being given a chance? Its why there is so little diversity anymore. Long Live The Funk!

  • LOVE IT! If Parliament were playing at half-time its a must see just like this video, if you have an ounce of funk in your soul you have to watch this (nice Willie Hutch btw) - Spread Love remix gives me shivers! And one of my faves Sexy Coffee Pot, damn good work my friend!!

  • Another great video and choice. Edutainment for the un educated.
