  • really nice

  • So much HORN!!!

  • 2007 Pierce Arrow XT Heavy Rescue Unit

  • Chya, they definetely thought this rig out thoroughly when they purchased it =D Love the truck boys. Two thumbs up.

  • so horny

  • that stutter horns a stutterin.

  • Basically, this sound emitted is telling people 'Get out of the way, we have a life threatening situation to attend to'.

    End of story.

  • 'At the end of the day', so to speak, firemen need to reach their destination as quickly as possible. 'What the heck' with the noise. I don't hear any trains having tone-downed horns.

  • Hell yea!!!! Lay on that air horn!!!

  • @Crazyfogfighter I'm not trying to pick an argument, however that was the most stupidest comment I've ever read concerning any emergency response video. [Yeah. Some poor person's house is still an active growing fire possible entrapment and you're just gonna take your sweet time because you don't wanna piss anyone off with your fire engine air horn in case they were on the phone. Oops! Wouldn't wanna do that.] Yeah. You're the guy I need to respond to my emergency, I just might live!

  • @omfgCantGetaUsername i am a firefighter myself, in a big town, hamburg.

we respond a lot more quiet, because we use the siren only if it's necessary, eg. on red intersections and if we get stucked in traffic, but not for the whole response, and not if nobody is in sight. Using the siren and waking up the whole neighbourhood dont bring you to the scene faster! I would unterstand if they used their EQ2B, but why are they honking like 20 cabs in front not moving down the whole, empty!! block?!

  • @Crazyfogfighter I get you but you must not understand what it's like being a foreigner and all. I guess you have to live over here to experience what we're trying to explain here. You can't be to quiet during emergencies people need to know you're coming and traffic can be really dumbfounded sometimes. Believe me, from my point of view they wanted to get everybody's attention as much as they could so they wouldn't have to completely stop at the light. P.s. I wanna be a firefighter myself.

  • @omfgCantGetaUsername Basically the FDNY does what they want, cause pretty much they can, there are countless MVA involving rigs and other cars because people cant drive in NYC. They dont pay attention, plus all the taxies, and rescue 1 has been involved in accidnets responding before, so if you got the airhorns and Q use it. Also the NYPD are driving vics and impallas very small 1-1.5 ton cars. Much easier to stop then a firetruck, and much more nimble.

  • @68Engine68 Yeah, you should be explaining that to @Crazyfogfighter he's the one that didn't get why they were holding the air horn so long. I understand he's the one that didn't.

  • @omfgCantGetaUsername Sorry i was trying to and i couldnt tell who i was replying to, my bad.

  • @68Engine68 It's cool.

  • @Crazyfogfighter I would suggest your department review the use of lights and sirens. Professionals know that constant use of lights and sirens decreases the amount of accidents significantly. Besides, these guys were going to a real job, not getting a cat out of the tree like you guys are used to.

  • @nyc14gauge lmao.

Never have seen such an amount of american firefighter arrogance in only 1 post.

    Congrats!

  • @nyc14gauge Really? You need to read more Youtube posts then. That was tame. But it was a little uber macho., so let me rephrase it. In New York City, people ignore emergency vehicles, pedestrians and motorists alike. I guarantee even with the amount of noise the driver was producing, on the way to the call, once or twice he had to tap the brakes because someone on a cell phone nearly walked in front of him. So if you've never operated an emergency vehicle in Manhattan, STFU.

  • @Crazyfogfighter Oh shut your mouth, look in the beginning where two people are about to cross the street before they hear the airhorn. New York City is a massive city with terrible drivers and oblivious pedestrians. They have to use all the lights and sirens at their disposal to even get to the call. Start learning more about how it is in America before you start insulting us.

  • @FreedomHigh4 Can i just say your being a compete asshole. thats y they have the horns!

  • @FDNYladder101 What? I was explaining to some foreigner who was complaining that they were using the horns to get the pedestrians out of the way...

  • @FreedomHigh4 I was not talking to you, i was talking to the guy who was complaning, not you

  • @FDNYladder101 Gotcha

  • Excellent driver and truck!

  • grover stuttertone?

  • i suppose they were harassing this guy too???

  • Now that's what I call a Air Horn

  • well in the city like new york u have to make as much noise as possible to move these people so unnesseary i doubt it

  • absolutely unnessicary and annoying...

    Bute nice Truck!

  • @Crazyfogfighter are you retarded? nyc has so many people so fdny has to make as muchnoise as possible

  • @ryanlovestosnowboard no i am not retarded.

they don't need to blast their horns down the whole empty blocks, it's just unessary and rude!

  • @Crazyfogfighter actually it is neccssary becuase they are goin through like 3 differnt intersections man fdny rescue 1 is very busy so yes this is neccessary and not rude in anyway

  • @ryanlovestosnowboard 0:1-0:11 no intersection, no traffic, no pedestrians. But a lot of Airhorn and E-Q. Unnessary, loud, rude. That's a fact. NYPD responds a lot more quiet to calls, the use the manual mode.

I'm a firefighter in Germany and we use the siren only to clear a intersection or when traffic is blocking our way.

  • @Crazyfogfighter excatly my point your from germany we no one is and not a lot of people come to amercia and you will expercinence very bad driving conditions no pulls over for any one or anything

  • @ryanlovestosnowboard and @Crazyfogfighter People are crazy in NYC.Look at the people in the Video they use the Air Horn for cars and People No one Pay's attention in New York City

  • @MrUp8444 thats what ive been trying to tell crazyfogfighter

  • @Crazyfogfighter Although, you've been told I'm going to inform you again anyway. This is NYC, anyone could've just ran out in the street to cross or cyclist could've came out besides drivers are very ignorant here so it was necessary. Huh....what, how do you figure it's RUDE and UNNECESSARY to honk here?!? Sometimes, emergency responders are courteous enough to lay off the horn and sirens when traffic ISN'T MOVING not while it's moving. Haven't you seen others videos where people don't move?

  • now that's how to use an air horn!!! hell yea!

  • what a horn !!!!

  • nice vid hate the e2qb

  • the electronic Q is weak the air horn killed it if it was the mechanical Q it would of been heard

  • great vid!

  • What a superb sound!

Everything else virtually ground to a halt as they passed through (too right as well).

  • that truck looks awesome!

  • Comment removed

  • good vid man

  • Great Vid , keep em coming

  • nice work whoever is using the air horns, nice catch
