  • The ruins look more like Angkor Wat than India. Is that in the novel? David Lean being very unsubtle, beating the audience over the head with a hammer. We get it, we get it.

  • @07regia

I'm pretty sure the ruined temple in the scene is a made-up set, but the erotic sculptures are modeled after the (in)famous Khajuraho Temples. Built between 950 and 1150 a.d., there are no contemporaneous writings explaining their significance so the debate as to their deeper meaning will go on forever. A lot more is depicted in the extensive carvings than just boffing. However the gringo touristas are not interested in the more mundane stuff.

  • This is stupid .. monkeys don't ever behave this way. They are used to humans.

  • @abbyroman er no not when they're in the middle of the jungle

  • @chrish12345 What jungle ? That is a ruin.. not a jungle.

  • @abbyroman yeah thats my point, its a ruin because nobody goes there, so they monkeys here haven't got used to the people yet :/

  • @abbyroman

    Psychologically it's a jungle..

  • @abbyroman - the monkeys are behaving this way because some hidden force is driving them. that's part of the story. geez.
