But don't quote me as both are US inventions and I'm British !! Of course both Geeks and Nerds are *not* sporty though they may be very avid fans.

But why the Hell do girls like that not have someone? I mean, I know she's just a character, but she represents a type of girl that is fairly common. Mousey, brilliant, scholarly, not really concerned with looks, but who are stunningly beautiful inside and out underneath the mismatched clothes and messy hair.

The fact that she is obviously alone is really sad, but the hope her character has is powerful.
