The 'defensive' missile system in Europe can easily be tipped and transformed into a nuke. From Poland, the flying time into Russia would be approximately three minutes. Russian defensive systems wouldn't be able to respond rapidly enough to that - seen like this, as an indefensible nuclear threat, I think Putin's threat to target Europe a necessary, or explainable, deterrent. Американцы хотят создать выгодные условия для своей застопорившейся экономики. Они больше не могут быть супердержавой за счет собственной силы, им становится все опаснее продолжать брать у всех в долг. Но можно быть супердержавой за счет чужой слабости. "Разделяй и властвуй", это политика еще римлян ;)
