  • great stuff and gear....you rock bitch....

  • @TheXXXDB Thanks! Glad you like it.

  • Dude, you have the rig of the gods.

  • @LesterPaul01 Ha! Thanks man, I'm glad you like it!

  • Are you tuned down a half step?

  • @LesterPaul01 If I remember correctly I think I was. Thanks for watching!

  • Man, that pedal sounds sick. I play a 08' trad. LP through a twin. I know your R9 is the grail but would I get in the ballpark of your tone with my rig and the brownie? thanks and Rock on!

  • the delay totally ruins this demo and the tones sound a complete mess, I wish you hadnt used that delay.........8-(

  • has anyone tried the cmat mods tube slammer? how does it compare to a ts808? thanks

  • I want a pedal that can give me the appetit for destruction tone.Do you think this pedal could be a great choice ? ( the other one i'm thinking about is the Purple plexi Lovepedal)

    Nice vid'

  • That Landgraff is the best thing that has ever happened to your playing...chuck the brownie and go with the Landy...Ebay that shit...Landgraff Rocks and the noise floor is much quieter too!!

  • I'm really digging the Mo'D pedal... Gonna have to get one of these. I love the Classic Rock tone you were getting. I play everything from the Stones to Aerosmith to the Eagles and this pedal sounds amazing. Great video!

  • Is this vince vaughan? I think it is.

  • @sportsportsport Yes, I'm Vince Vaughan :) While this video was being shot I was dating Jennifer Aniston she was naked sitting right next to me! :)

  • oh man the langraff is floating my boat!

    thanks

  • @meateaterer Floats mine too! :)

  • Let me get this straight. you bought an R9 and then changed the pickups...? LOL! No problem from my side thought! Really cool sounds from both pedals man. I will join the others and recommend you the MI Audio Crunch Box from my side for Marshall-in-a-box thing. Nope, I don't work for them either...!

But since I'm a CMATMODS fan as well, could you get your hands on a Butah and demo it as well? I know I'm pushing it...

Thanks anyway man! Really great tones!

  • I really want to try a Butah! If they send me one to try I'll defiantly demo it.

The R9 sounds good with the Burst Buckers, great with the Lollars (like in this video) but INSANE with the Throbacks! I need to try some WCR Dark Bursts though.

  • alot of people do that with reissues with burstbuckers,i think they struggle to get a tone they like as in they take a lot of fiddiling..i know with my r8 i can have a right time getting something i like out of it..

  • Brownie vs Crunch Box?

    I want a smooth-ish sound, I'm using a strat/blues junior NOS

    thanks!

  • @popomczowzow crunch box sux!

I would suggest you Rothwell switchblade or brown pig from piggy fx.

Brownie much better than crunch box

  • @LeonGrinberg

I actually have a crunchbox now, and it kicks ass. I use it more for overdrive than distortion though.

  • Great video man !!! Superb stuff...maxed out, which would you say has more gain (although different) Brownie or Mo'D ?

  • Thanks! They both have a lot of gain. I think the up position of the Mo'D has more gain. After about 1:00 the Mo'D turns in to a RAT on steroids and there's tons of gain on tap.

  • Coool...Thanks for the info man.

  • Extremely good video man! Great tones, but... I think you owe to yourself to try the MI Audio Crunch Box for unbelievable Marshall tones... Nope, I don't work for them! And you 'll be amazed...

  • I'm looking for like a Eric Johnson-ish Lead tone. Kind of a darker/craked plexi kinda tone. Could the Brownie do this?

  • The Brownie does a great cranked Plexi that's for sure however when I try to get close to Eric Johnson tone I am more inclined to use a Fuzz Face of some sort...and delay....tons of delay :)

  • Very good demo man! And good guitar playing too, you really played some nice stuff that the pedals were suited for...

  • Thanks! I'm glad you liked it.

  • this video helps i was just thinking about this with my 59 reissue

  • wow i noticed quite a lot of noise coming from the brownie. i've heard that the ggg bsiab has the same design as the brownie?

mines hell noisy too. its a pain in the ass.

  • Awesome video! Everything sounds fantastic!

  • haha sounds like john mayers voice! not a bad voice to sound like.

  • You've got killer tone. I love the Brownie!

  • Great job , who says you can't get metal sounds out of a Victoria 45410 tweed bassman type amp . I've been trying the Seymour Duncan twin tube but with no great success through my 59 Reissue , but this pedal gets it done!

  • I agree with the above comment about trying the Brownie at a lower gain setting. I own one and like the medium gain sound as well as the roaring high. Also, I would like to hear your demo without the delay. Overall, a very nice demonstration. The Landgraff sounded excellent.

  • I need your opinion:

I need that Brown Sound to nail some heavier 70's Marshall tones like maybe KISS, UFO, AC/DC, and a passable Van Halen. Is this the pedal for me? I cant afford a $200 and up pedal. I play a Strat or Les Paul into a Fender Twin Clean channel only. I also heard about BSIAB2 from GGG. Have you tried that pedal? Any input would be appreciated! Thanks!!

  • Hi, sorry for the delayed response. I'm not familiar with the BSIAB2 but for Van Halen tones you really can't go wrong with the Brownie! For KISS and AC/DC I would go for more of a Marshall crunch type pedal. CMATMODS Signa Drive has a nice crunch mode (the up position) and it's really affordable.

  • your voice sounds like John Mayer's one :D

  • what's the difference between the r9 and a les paul, or is the r9 a lmodel of a les paul? Thanks for the demo.

  • Hi, the R9 is a Gibson Custom Shop remake of the legendary 1959 Les Paul.

  • Oh, I wondered, it looked like some kind of vintage RI, thanks.

  • though choice. they're both great pedals, but i like the clarity of the Landgraff better, especially with the R9. the CMATMODS came out sounding little muddy through your camera's mic, but i'm sure it's a great pedal too.

    Rob

  • Hi Rob, yea I'm a little bummed on the sound quality. I think I'll do a follow up with better sound and maybe while I'm at it I'll ad in the Sigma Drive from CMATMODS as well. I do however think the point came across about the Brownie's "sizzle" though. The Brownie NAILS that early VH tone. ...and to be fair I should also do the Brownie at low gain to show how it also has the AC/DC vibe.

  • as always great work man.

  • Thanks Gregory!

  • Also the audio is kinda crappy on this clip. I think I had the camera a bit too close to the amp, the mic is sorta distorting but in general I think most people will get the idea. Anyway, sorry in advance for the sub par sound.

  • Thanks alot! Mine didn't come with extra chips. I'll have to hit Chad up for a couple. I'm actually REALLY happy with the tone as it is but it should be fun to experiment.

***AT 5:27 I MEAN TO SAY, "THE Mo'D IS A GREAT PEDAL FOR CLASSIC ROCK"****** I said the Brownie is by mistake. The Brownie is great for those tones too but the Mo'D is just freakishly good at it. For VH 1&2 Tones the Brownie clowns everything (in pedal form) I have ever tried.

  • First of all, great playing!

I completely agree with what you said about the Brownie's top-end sizzle; pure VH1&2! I noticed you were cranking the tone knob all the way... if you wish to get more presence/high-end sizzle, there's a very simple mod that can be done, which just requires removal of 1 cap (or 2 for even more high-end).

Have you played around with the extra components/chips that Chad ships with the Brownie? They alter the gain and feel of the pedal quite a bit!
