only DVD+/-RW, DVD-ROM or CD+/-RW,

@xtreme360moddz - it depends on the dvd-player but the most dvd players can play these.

@hevy805 - remember you cannot write files more than once on CD+/-R and DVD+/-R.

i have recently wrote some data's in partially written cd using nero. during that time i removed some existing files that are present in the CD and my writing processs completed. if i put the CD it displays only the lastly written file. i could not find my old files.. its a non rewritable cd :

Nero is great to have! but it always interfere you always on purpose! if you want to burn a movie for back-ups, it always says FAILED TO READ VTS...... but when you use other basic burner softwares, it works. DUH. it's the purpose for something....

what is the difference between quick erase and a full erase???

quick erase means the old data is not actually gone but the disk will still become writable, full erase wipes it completey something like about 10 times over and over again to all the data is completly gone but it does put ware and tear on the disk making it unwritable after a while, best to use quick erase to make the disk last longer

ive burnt my avi movies onto a dvd-rw using nero 7, its says burning completed but when i play it on my divx player/dvdplayer it cant read the disc. when i do this on a dvd+r theres no problem it plays the movies fine. why doesnt it work on dvd-rw??

no its not possible. DVD-R discs are write once only. The only DVD discs you can erase and re-record on are DVD+RW, DVD-RW, and DVD-RAM.

soloburai, you may have already found the answer to this question, (post 2 mos. old), but here goes anyway.

Open Nero 9 StartSmart. Click on the circular Nero icon on the lower left of the dialog. Choose Toolbox, choose Erase disc. Select erase method then click the Erase button.

First of all you did you insert DVD-RW or DVD-R disk. With this tip you can only erase DVD-RW disks but not DVD-R.
