you're retarted. The top 5 characters in Brawl require nothing but SPAMMING. Dedede = chain grab, MK = you already know, Marth = side B slashes, etc etc. There is on unpredictability in brawl, only how fast you can pull off your characters good moves.

Melee required thinking. Theonly spam character in Melee was Marth, and even then, you had to know correct spacing in fear of being completely punished, so it FORCED you to think about where on the stage you'd use certain moves

brawl was relitivly new and evo didnt really have alot of backbone put into the structuring brawls rules

in evo 09(just recently passed) the rules were more tourney standard( our standards)

Blame it on the EVO folks. This was EVO 08, & back then the EVO had this holier than thou idea that SmashBoards & AllisBrawl were wrong about items being "broken," whereas EVO felt items were legit-yet they banned Norfair because "the lava is hard to dodge." Almost all the people there were EVO people. Ken & SK are 2 of the few skilled smashers that showed.

They didn't revise Brawl for EVO 09, but there still was a lot of Brawl playing there (with no items).

But yeah, fuck EVO for that.
