sjsjakkday of course I know they have been around longer than POD but notice how much they have changed their sound. They released The Ultra Violence in 1985 which is a great slab of thrash metal. Listen to that album and you can't tell it is the same band who released this. This sounds like nu metal now.

It sounds watered down, lacks the attitude, energy, the passion etc. It sounds like a band that to comfy and didn't put much effort in. Listen to Destruction - The Antichrist for updated thrash. IT is little like Eternal Devastation and sounds modern but it has energy, more riff changes, more technical, and sounds like a band that really cares about what they are doing.

I'll try to explain. Christianity is easily the biggest religion in the US and most of Europe, where these bands are usually from. That makes it the religion they see the most growing up, therefore the one they know best. That in itself makes it much easier to rebel against. Furthermore, Jews and Muslims are a minority in both places above. Bands will often be labeled as anti-Semitic for being against either one, which isn't good PR. Look what happened to Darkthrone to see what I mean.
