This brings me right back to my childhood. I was absolutely FASCINATED with the Ruby Slippers. Always. They had me spellbound and I always wanted a pair to display. I have always liked glittery and sparkley things. My mother used to tell people I was going to own a pair of the real ones someday LOL. Thank you for this video!
Great job. I was very lucky to see one of the real pair up close and personal. If anyone knows the story about how the shoes were 'found' they will know the name Kent Warner. I became friends with him and the first time I went into his home he had them on display in the living room. He kept the best pair for himself of course. They were on a white pedestal under blass with a light shining down on them. Very beautiful shoes and you did an excellent job with yours.
howie92, your welcome. The the slippers aren't the only things he had. He also had one of Dorothy's pinafores and things from other films. I was watching a movie and as the camera went through a room I saw a small statue on a side table and I recognized it as one that Kent had in his apartment. It was a very beautiful art deco style statue of a woman. He had three of them I assume he also got from the movies. He gave me some very nice shirts that were from some films.
Can I ask you? How do you make the ribbon on the shoes? Can you please tell? Because I'm in-charge on the slippers and needed on our play this April 26!
These are the most beautiful replica I've ever seen. There are several errors in the bow, but other than that they are nearly perfect. Did you sew or glue on the sequins?
you did a great job on these there is a seam down the front of the shoe because the sequines were sewn on a fine red tulle net then attached to the red fille satin pumps made by the innes shoeco.thy were put on in a fishscale pattern to conform to the pump hence the seam down the middle
First of all....................I have made 7 pairs of these shoes and have purchased many pairs as well. These shoes are fine. No they are not perfect but....who cares!! They are beautiful. If you any of people can do better........post it and stop being so mean! Good Job on your shoes!!!
there are sems on the front of the real pair of ruby slippers. there just not as prominent as the ones in my video. i know mine aren't total replicas. i had to put the seem in the front because it looked weird if i didn't. and the ruby slipper blue print says there was a seem. so i put it. =]
The ones I've seen at the Smithsonian and MGM didn't have seems up the front and they were supposed to be copies .. so, at the risk of calling you a fkg busybody, have you got any proof for that?
ok ew, there was absolutely no need for that, my comment was not meant in a malicious way at all. and really? "fkg busybody"? u posted a comment on youtube meaning OPEN TOPIC 4 ANY1 TO COMMENT! don't want someone commenting on your posts, send a message don't post a comment, O and not that i feel i need to prove anything to you, but if you really look at the real pairs there is a very subtle seam in the front, from which each row of sequins fans out in an angle. so your wrong...
My comment was to the poster not to you and obviously you do feel you need to prove something gobby, or you wouldn't have bothered to respond. There are no seems at the front of the real shoes - you are wrong - I've seen two pairs, neither had seems so blow it out your ass.
are you talking about the your first comment cuz all the others have been to me... so i'm confused, and i have seen them in person, the same 2 pairs, and yea there is a seam it's not as prominent as the one on these shoes but i promise it's there.
That's okay .. you probably get confused a lot right? There are no seams on the front of the original shoes or the copies - any idiot can see that from the vids on YT so stop making a fkg twat out of yourself - how old are you??
v=OcjuoLfXGxg - check it out, like you should've done before you made your smart ass comment - next time lie about something that can't be checked so easily .. you fkg nerd.
you should DEFINITELY make these for sale- you'd make yourself a nice bundle of cash! id def buy!

I hate shoes that have seems on the front of the foot, but nice try.
Sansash01202 2 years ago
well the original shoes that judy wore did have a seam in the center of the front so these are accurate...
Great job they look spectacular!!!
