Sweetie with the hair texture you have, you really don't need a relaxer. A lot of our women get relaxers to loosen or straighten the kinky texture we have. Take care and good luck in your hair care journey!!!!
sleep on satin pillow cases. you probably can buy them from wal mart/ target/ bed bath beyond. sleep with a satin, elastic bonnet on. you can trim your ends (as needed) with professional scissors (can be bought from almost any store). i had my last perm nov 2009. i did NOT get the big chop. i had a drastic cut apr 2010. my hair is still straight from scalp to ends. i trim my hair as needed. i watch plenty of natural hair women vids on youtube.
@2cvest I love the fact you capitalized this! I was always asked if I was mixed when I wore my natural hair. What people fail to realize is that black women are one of the most beautiful, exotic looking races there is! No perms or make up needed!! Btw ur beautiful girly! ;)
It looks like its going well so far. But tips for advice for your hair texture(I have the same texture, and I went natural without cutting it all off) You should stay away from brushes... If you use it only a little it wont hurt but for the most part use comes. And try your best to stay away from really small tooth combs. I know it sounds crazy but they can exhaust your hair shaft and cause you to have to drastically cut off your hair. Also, try hard to to use any ponytails
@BlackWomanDeen If you do use any scrunchies, use the silk ones. And use a silk or a satin scarf when going to sleep! Good luck! It will all work out!
PS Dont try the "Home dye process"... I tried it and it was a hot mess... lol Hair dying is something that usually takes a professional to help you with(So you wont accidently break it off
Best wishes on your natural journey!! How is it going?
It is too funny watching you zoom in on your new growth! I too was like that when I decided to go natural...I would constantly look and "love on" my new growth!! Let's just say my transition DID not last long! I loved my natural hair!!
@tressfreecre8tions hahah yes thats all I want to do now is play with my curls! and look at them..Ive already cut countless strands of hair to see them bunch together and curl lol but Im still not ready to do the big chop yet hehe...Do you have videos of your journey? Im gonna go check now..I hope you doo!
@2cvest Yes ma'am I do have quite a few vids posted. Only one really rough pre-BC video, though I plan to add some images to my blog showing my hair pre-BC and transition til now. Look for that by end of year!!
Hi Cvest! Youre so pretty and I am so glad that I found your vids because I too have decided to go natural and Im so excited and scared all at the same time. I dont really know what my natural curl pattern is but alls i do know is my hair is MEGA THICK and frizzy BUT, I have still decided to try and tame this wild beast and stop gettn relaxers. Im too much of a whimp to upload videos yet but just know that Im trans'n w/u 3mos strong! GOOD LUCK! Btw youre so cute we have the same gap!
@MsSunShyne85 hahah thanks..and yes i encourage you to tame that "wild beast" because thats how God made you :) anyways, not to get too deep into going "natural" lol Good luck to you too :) Im scared too but the more it grows the more i love it! and lol at the fact that we have the same gap! hahah
I can tell you have a little asian in you. I am Spanish but I have a little in me too. You have wonderful bone structure and I love your little gap in your teeth.
Try Aphogee Treatment!! I have the same problem you have with my ends breaking off, and the aphogee two-step protein treatment really really helps a lot!
@sexyindian114 wow really? Do you notice any difference in the speed of hair growth? lol I did hear about that recently and was planning on trying it out once i got a few bucks but if i do try it out i will let you know how it worked for me! :) thanks
YAY 2 months since my last one too dude...lol... i think we have similar hair too...its gettin hard for me ... ugh... but i'm committed to this...well, i keep telling myself that and it seems to work =]
