@MegaRudeness Actually the french fortress designer Vauban was the first man to build trenches as we know them, with interlocking fields of fire and shelters

@megatwingo They forgot to mention that Field Marshal French stole the idea of trenches from the Boers from the Anglo Boer Wars fought in South Africa in 1899!
