I love this question. My ex complained that we HAD to speak every day. In retrospect, I tried telling him that I just wanted to connect w/ him every day. "Just send me a text to say 'I love you', or send me a picture or a funny joke." I'd tell him, but he insisted it wasn't a big deal and I assumed it wasn't. Now I feel like we had a connection overload. Next time, I want to make sure that he understands what I REALLY want.

Ex kept forgetting me for these kinds of things. Give him that and find yourself something else to do. Sometimes it's a symptom that they need time to themselves, it's not a bad thing. With my ex we just choked each other by not leaving us enough of this kind of "me" time. If he has his fun time he'll be happy to talk to you once he's done. If he calls too late you can try to be "too busy" at the moment and postpone it to later too. If done lightly or with humor it passes better than nagging.

yeah same situation, but when he says he's gonna call the afternoon (next day) he doest call at all for most of the time. One of the only diffrence is, i live in Canada, and he lives in Arkanasa on base.
