Synthesizer Programming - Episode 4 - Trance / Dance gated / polysynth sound

I've copied the preset perfectly, but it sounds NOTHING like the video when I plop the preset into one of my trance tracks. Could someone please provide a midi file or flp? I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. The sound in this video is so thick and layered, but everything I make sounds profoundly wimpy in comparison. Please help or point me in the right direction. thank you!

Man thank you so much for this. I just wish I had been more resourceful ealier with my life, but then at that time there wasnt youtube and this synth. SO I forgive myself :P YOu just helped me understan this beast synth better!!!!!

Firstly Fuck Ableton Live Cubase is cooler That's an opinion so dont argue with me there. And secondly Its not that I need Hardware, its that i perfer it! I have over 300 knobs for sound shaping in real time... a midi controller has what? 60? Plus a mouse? Im sick of seeing people play music off laptops! Part of DJing / producing is a performance, would you pay to see someone play on a computer all night? Fuck hes prolly playin minetweaker :P

SWEET! Im sick of finding tutorials on Fruity loops! They teach you nothing! Im a hardware fan, and my general method is turn knobs until it sounds right ;) i found this very helpful, because you told me about controls I actually have! not just fruity fuck all

Hello and thank you very much for the tutorials. I too am a NOOBS. Age 46, should have started learning in the '70's.

Just bought my first synth, a Dave Smith MOPHO, mono. I have learned much from your tutorials, and am wanting to programs sounds for the epic Frankenstein. Have a preset patch for the space bridge. Might you know of a website where I could go where exact patches/programming data can be found for specific songs? Again, thank you much for your generousity in sharing info. R

Thanks for your kind words. Sorry , but I don't know a specific website , I suggest you to search in synth forums or youtube because a lot of people make tutorials of "how to program this sound from this song"

Thanks :) , I'm making these tutorials with synth1 because is free vst, and everybody can install it practise the tutorials. Anyway, I'll think about make tutorials with other synths.
